| General | Some authors can write to just about any kind of music, so long as it fits their mood. Others do better writing to no music at all. I do best when I’m listening to lyric-free music that fits whatever scene I’m constructiong.
Among my favorite composers (along with some of my favorite soundtracks) are:

Carter Burwell (Rob Roy)
E.S. Posthumus (Unearthed)
Hans Zimmer (Lorenzo’s Oil – awesome for gut-wrenching emotional scenes)
James Horner (Legend of the Fall, Titanic)
Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Unfaithful is a favorite, but absolutely anything by him is great)
John Barry (Out of Africa, Dances With Wolves)
Klaus Badelt (Time Machine)
London Symphony Orchestra (Braveheart)
Michael Andrews (Donnie Darko)
Peter Gabriel (Passion: Music For The Last Temptation Of Christ)
Wojciech Kilar (Bram Stoker’s Dracula – great for dark scenes)
Clint Eastwood (Unforgiven – yes, believe it or not, discovering this soundtrack
“made my day”)

| | Music | coming soon | | Movies | coming soon | | Television | coming soon | | Books | The eldest of four children, Tanya Anne Crosby began her writing career at the age of 12, when, after having her tonsils removed, instead of the traditional ice cream, she asked her dad if she could move the family typewriter into her room. Of course, he relented, unable to deny her “sick wish.” No sore throat was ever endured more cheerily. Thus began her love affair with the written word.
Her affinity for storytelling continued to be cultivated through her early teens by fabricating stories for her younger siblings and while babysitting, and, then, as a young adult, by fabricating alibis for her father (thereafter it was, alas, not further encouraged).
But true love can never be denied, and it blossomed again during her early 20s while her children were still young enough to enjoy listen to her ramblings.
Since beginning her “official” writing career in 1992 with her first published book, Angel of Fire, Tanya has written 15 novels. All have garnered excellent reviews and landed on bestseller lists, including Waldenbooks Romance, Ingram Top 50, USA TODAY and the much coveted New York Times list. She has also written numerous articles and has received many awards and nominations, such as Romantic Times’ Best Historical Romance, Book of the Year, Most Innovative Romance and a career achievement award. Most recently, she was awarded a PPA General Excellence award for journalism and a PPA bronze award for her article Letting Go (You can find a version of this in Tanya's blog, but please, no bills for excess Kleenex usage).
