Taster Peter is a new producer and DJ born in Genova and raised in Livorno, Italy. Being raised in a musical family, in his early days he was a student of 'Mascagni Music Institute' (a fully respected italian music institute) where he played the violin and later on changed to guitar and double bass. After years he decided to start with the drums.
His drummer carrer started at 16 and for 10 years he was the drummer of "Taster's Choice": a well known Metal // Pop Italian band with 2 albums: "Shining" (2006) // "The Rebirth" (2009) released worldwide (EU - US - JAP territories). With his band he shared stages with great bands like 30 Seconds to Mars, Aiden, Afterhours, Linea77, Terror and many more.
Around 1998 electronic music caught his attention and when he began to hear artists like The Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Air, Daft Punk, FatBoySlim and Basement Jaxx, it became a big part of his life. Getting deeper into this music, Peter developed an interest in techno and house and started to produce music at 16 with his first fruity loops software for the first breaks // house // techno
tunes.
Towards the end of 2006 Peter started building up a small studio to produce his own music, and with the time he has released the first EP's on different labels like Autist, Full Equip and Mutual. In 2008 'Audiorama EP' was released on Hell Yeah Recordings, and was picked up by the best Dj's of the globe. This release was followed up by 'Metro Sexual // Elephant & Castle EP' on the german label Vi Tvà Records. The vinyl release was an incredible succes, it was sold out in the first 20 days and nowdays it is still selling a lot of copies.
This release suggested Peter was a true talent, in 2009 'Fat of Excellence EP' released on Hell Yeah confirmed it. The EP is an exclusive remix package of unreleased Taster Peter remixes for techno don UMEK, berlin supremo OLIVER KOLETZKI, slovenian TOMY DECLERQUE and italian kraut-rockers du jour CRIMEA X. Our "Taster of choice" reworks S Cream to maximum effect keeping the hard techno vibe of the original slovenian mix but adding some twisted rhythm solutions to refresh this monster. While Peter's take on Koletzki's Nascita of the Monsters is all about full moon parties, deep-acid, tons of 303 and delays for a proper futuristic "west-coast flavoured" tech-house winner: massive! Peter's rework on Loky, originally from Tomy DeClerque, is a massive techno bomb ready to kill the dancefloors in a full 'rollercoaster' style.
Last but not least it's "A Year Later", an unreleased Crimea X tune that Taster Peter got the exclusive chance to remix, indie guitars meets minimal techno, the ultimate intro track per excellence.
In October 2009 'Fat of Excellence MIX' was released just as his debut DJ mix for Hell Yeah imprint, showed his DJ and production skills to even greater effect whereby each track was an amalgamation of two different tracks spliced in the mix using Ableton live.
As a live performer Peter travels all his national territory and in Europe in cities like Berlin, Ibiza, Barcelona and London many times.
He is equally renowned for his remix work, and artists like Umek, Oliver Koletzki, Ascii Disko, Tomy DeClerque, Marco Bailey and Tom Hades have asked him to put together remixes for them.
Peter is proudly a part of "The Zapping Kills" : a side project between Taster Peter & MoOB. The project is composed by Taster Peter's loops played live and mixed with 2 decks by MoOb! The result is a 100% amazing sound where you can't say NO to dance baby!
