My kids, Adriane & Alex, and their little brother, Elliot. My gal, Becki Sue. Blues guitar and blues/jazz music in general...duh! Buying cool music gear such as guitars, amps and gadgets but I'm way to underfinanced to really get all the things I want. Snow skiing! All the major spectator sports, especially college football & basketball when the Washington Huskies are good (fair weather fan!). I'll have to think about what else should go here!
  • Music

My main thing is electric Texas/Chicago/West Coast style B-L-U-E-S w/lots of harp and guitar interplay... Little Walter w/the Myers brothers/Robert Junior Lockwood/Luther Tucker; Buddy Guy w/Junior Wells; Sugar Ray Norcia w/Ronnie Earl Horvath; Kim Wilson w/Jimmy Vaughan; Anson Funderburgh w/Sam Myers; Charlie Baty w/Rick Estrin,; James Harman w/Kid R., Fats and Junior W... that's west coast blues style guitarists Kid Ramos, Hollywood Fats and Junior Watson; Johnny Dyer w/ Rick Holmstrom; William Clarke and Rod Piazza w/Alex Schultz and some of the aformentioned guitarists, etc. Of course, I need to mention Duke Robillard, Kid Bangham, my good buddy Tim "Stoopdown" Sherman; and the past blues guitar greats such as Magic Sam, T-Bone Walker, The Three Kings, and many, many, many, many more. I love blues influnced jazz... Kenny Burrell, Jack Mcduff, early George Benson, Pat Martino with Willis "Gator" Jackson, etc. Then there's West Coast Swing, 60's rock such as Cream and Led Zeppelin, even an occasional 70's band such as Wishbone Ash (awesome twin lead guitarists)!

About me:

I'm a blues guitarist by night disguised as a state government worker by day; born in 1953 and raised in Lakewood WA., which is also the high school era home of Robert Cray and Bobby Murray (Etta James' longtime guitarist and bandleader), and other great guitarists such as Jho Blenis and Rich Dangel. I now reside in Olympia, WA. In Lakewood I went thru 12 years of public school, graduating from Clover Park High in 1971; joined The U.S. Navy in 1974 and spent four VERY long years on shore duty stationed at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor, WA; got outta the Navy and married Kim in late 1977; studied guitar at The Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA in 1978-79, where I also took blues guitar lessons with the great Ronnie (Earl) Horvath during that time; moved to Seattle for a year and worked as a picture framer and continued my quest of becoming a professional blues guitarist by attending blues jams at blues clubs such as The Pike Place Pub and The Owl... and practicing my butt off!; left Seattle for Olympia and The Evergreen State College in 1981, where I formed my first professional blues band, The Harmonic Tremors, which was also my school project/major; graduated from Evergreen with a degree in Music/Communications in 1982, the same year that my beautiful, talented and best daughter in the world, Adriane, was born! In August of 1982, I moved back to Seattle with my young family where, beginning in 1983, I played guitar in several of the Pacific Northwest's top blues bands including The Slackmasters, Drivin' Wheel,... my awesome son, Alex, now a very fine guitarist, songwriter, and recording artist, was born in 1986; I then joined Nitelife with Mike "Harmonica Playboy" Lynch in 1989; marriage to Kim, the mother of my children, ends in divorce in about 1990; I joined Portland keyboardist, DK Stewart & MFB for a brief 6 months in 1992; I joined The Led Jaxson Band from 1993-1997, recording two albums of very fine music; I got caught up in "the scene" and floundered a bit after that, causing me to move back to Olympia in 1997, where I got a state job, taking a year off from performing in clubs. I eventually formed The Steamers in 1998; dismantled The Steamers in 2002; met the lovely and talented, Becki Sue and formed current band in 2002 with said girlfriend, originally called "The T-Boy Neal Band", later changed to it's current name, "Becki Sue & her Big Rockin Daddies!" www.bigrockindaddies.com ***Married Becki Sue on August 30, 2008*** LIFE IS GREAT! ...to be continued

From heaven above arrives a fascination,
    It..s a personal, glory innovation
To be honest, thankfull and true -
Holy night, I trust in you,
cause you give freedom to everyone,
You spend much love and also fun.

I treasure Christmas through the years,
It..s a magic time, which disappears.

But it comes back again and again,
    I..m indeed a Christmas - fan.

I wish you and your family a merry christmas
    Love & Peace
