Brief To/Die/For Biography

To/Die/For are back with a new album bearing the self-explanatory title IV. Plagued by enough line-up hassles and what not to bring a lesser band down for good, To/Die/For have remained steadfast in their mission for melodic, metal goth which does not shy away from 80s vibes either. In fact, the vocals of singer/bandleader Jape are often compared to those of the late Stiv Bators (Lords of the New Church), bringing a unique edge to the T/D/F sound.
To/Die/For released their debut album in 1999 in Finland and worldwide through Nuclear Blast in 2000. A successful tour with Dark Tranquillity, Sentenced and In Flames followed in the autumn. The second album Epilogue came out already next summer, featuring guest appearances from Marco (Sinergy, later Nightwish) and Tanya (the original Lullacry singer). The single release Hollow Heart topped the charts.
With Jaded (2003), which could have easily been the hard third album the band instead hit another success. Now on the brink of the new album release, all the elements of the old albums have been retained: good songs, tons of melody, but performed by vigour of a refreshed line-up. Staying true to the T/D/F tradition of choosing unexpected covers (the first album had In the Heat of the Night by Sandra!) on IV we have the U2 classic New Years Day!
Their 5th album "Wounds Wide Open" was released on October 4, 2006 and to/die/for continues touring all around,europe etc.in the end of june2007 starts USA and CANADA tour,autumn 2007 brings also more shows in Romania,Russia etc.
