Tears of Glory raises by the year 2001 in a city located in the centre-west of Colombia called Manizales in which the band gets an outstanding recognition among the power progressive genre through the local gigs circuit and underground shows in its country. In 2003 the fledgling band had enough original material for the recording of its three-tracked demo, what permitted to settle itself in the scene in a definite way; later on and after too much alive shows, the band enlist in a tour in several cities (Tour Metal Assault ’05) what gave it recognition from the foreign critic, featuring in several printed and audiovisual media (radio interviews and TV programmes).
In 2007 the band is invited to feature in the compilation CD for the “Tributo Internacional a Kraken” recording a modern and new-waved version of a classic song of this legendary band. This year the recording of the first full length album begins for the South American debut and co-produced by the famous guitarist Andy LaRocque at Sonic Train Studios (King Diamond, Hammerfall, Imagka, In Flames, Evergrey).
By the end of 2008, Tears of Glory signs its first distribution and release contract with the well known label Hateworks in order to expand the band..s “Opera Prima” in South America, United States, Canada and Sweden.
Being this, Tears of Glory still remains in the cultural frame of the Latinamerican progressive genre with huge expectations and coming projects in this current decade, defined by the compromise of Colombian bands pointing out abroad.
