when the band called technogod decide on its name, it was exactly to criticize the enormous attention we humans give to technological innovations and the sproportionate dependency we have on modern conveniences without which we'd be completely lost. the human race is worshipping a technogod far more than it loves itself, for better or for worse

"pain trtn ment" is the entertainment of pain. that sick, morbose curiosity we have with regards to other people's suffering. we are fed daily, with slabs of death, mutilations, fights, bombings on a constant treadmill of repetition to the point where we are completely numb
newscasts sell you news and information and are rewarded by ratings and commercials. more close up deaths on total recall sell more underwear and words from the sponsors. close ups of grinning and pain send shivers down our spines
it's the next best thing to ejaculation. there's no distinction between reality and fiction everything is taken to great pains to appear real, sex, porn, love
it's all available -- all you need is a magnetic number and the doors open ajar as wide as our mouths and gaping brains can take - there's more if you want all you gotta do is pay, pray, pain trtn
it's technogod's 4th cd after "undo" released in 2001/2002 always trying to maintain a good perspective on irony, sarcasm, anger and the pornography of despair. there are more vocal tracks than in the past and fewer samples. it's more played by live musicians. it's a work in constant acceleration that never looks back, and gives no reprieve. it's almost sadistic in wanting to push further giving you no slack. never backing down. it's got its pop sides, it's funkier with strong elements of disco, electrostoner, glam, rock and roll, industrial punk...it's pure fun, farting in the face of artistic integrity. it's like vomiting against the wind with the car windows down. it's stylistically free and it aims to please
at the controls the nucleus of the band: y:dk and loz along with various friends, accomplices and collaborators like, francesco "fresh drummah" brini (swayzak/pinktronix) on drums, luca "rudeman mc" lombardo on vocals on tracks like "echelonmyback" (a revisitation of the eddy grant 'police on my back' song made famous by the clash) and on "the day the world stopped shopping", tying tyffany purrs in pure dominatrix form on the gabber'n roll "no fun pour moi?" while roz de faux, old discolounge diva from nowheresville, arkansas, blows on "girls just wanna have funk" and "free'n lonely"

pain trtn ment: quarto lavoro dopo "undo" del 2001/2002 sempre all'insegna dell'ironia, del sarcasmo, della rabbia, della pornografia, della disperazione. un disco più suonato e più vocale del precedente. un lavoro in continua accelerazione che non torna mai indietro, non vuole dare tregua, quasi sadico nel suo macinare e sfidarti ad ingoiare un altro chicco di riso prima dell'autodeflagrazione. un cd molto popp (con quelle p da sputacchio maleodorante di chi ti urla in un orecchio nullità etiliche durante un concerto che ormai non riesci più a gustare), funk, disco, electrostoner, glam, rock'n'roll, industrial punk...puro divertimento, sportellate stilistiche, vomito controvento a finestrino abbassato, musica contronatura, vaqua (sic) e indisponente nei confronti di eccessivi stilismi nouveau clichè...what you don't know can't hurt you: ignorance is bliss

TECHNOGOD/tack at ::: bio (19 years in a concise form)
1990 it all starts
a demo produced in a small bedroom winds up in aki nawaz's walkman and while snoozing he's overwhelmed by a nightmare -- no one will ever know what he was dreaming but the band he was listening in his sleep was technogod
nawaz, former drummer and co-founder of the southern death cult (later to be known as the huge band called cult), is the artistic director of his own small independent label nation records, responsible for the creation of a new musical style known as 'world fusion' releasing artists such as transglobal underground, natasha atlas and fundamental
1990 and nation records releases technogod's "cola wars" e.p.. the band's post acid house mixture of rock, electronics and rap immediately appeal to djs like andy weatherall, colin dale and even john peel spins some of the band's tracks
the italian contempo records, home to the legendary clock dva and to pankow, take interest in the band and in 1993 release technogod's first full-length album entitled "hemo glow ball" co-produced by the band and roli mosiman (known for his production work with the young gods, swan, the the and many more)
what follows is a glorious european tour supporting consolidated, a french tour with meat beat manifesto and an italian tour with the young gods with whom they will share not only a friendship but also management for a few years
the mid 90s are a bit stifling due to contempo's bankruptcy and the legal contractual hassles that ensue in order to free itself and continue using the band's name. in the meantime, technogod creates the "lost legion alien collective" producing ohmega tribe's "anodyne wisdohm" debut album which gets great attention both in europe and in the u.s. and gets relased by the prestigious ambient u.s. label silent, while in europe it gets released by hyperium/hypnobeat, and vox pop/alchemax in italy. the alien collective will also put together the "lost legion sampler" a compilation that will also get released by silent, hyperium and gamma records in denmark
in the meantime in 1996 the band is free at last and releases its heaviest work, "2000 below zero", the album gets released in italy by vox pop/bmg, musidisc licenses it for france and hyperium/hypnobeat in germany/austria and switzerland
various tours end shows ensue. technogod tours with papa brittle in france and does various support shows with the young gods, asian dub foundation and napalm death
in 1998 the band after various remixes and tv jingles comes to a hiatus
in 2001 technogod has a new life. some of the original members leave the band for other projects. technogod is now formed by two musicians/producers plus various collaborators
2001-2002 techngod release "undo" continuing to get great reviews for its uncompromising way of making music
and finally in 2009 techngod/tack at produce and release "pain trtn ment"
19 years of total musical, stylistic, and productive independence... grinning and bearing it
