when the teichmann brothers are at the decks or playing live they ride high with the crowd, 2 guys on a natural high, jumping, raving, always wearing that distinctive teichmann smile, a euphoria reflected in the music and a smile you can't help returning. the teichmann sets - ping-pong sets with the two brothers playing each other the ball, consistently unpredictable and focussed. dramatically mixing genres from minimal to acid, to chicago, techno, rock and house as one. the teichmann party - raved about not only by berliners and crowds in hamburg, cologne and munich, but even by those in the depths of siberia, south america, the middle east, china, vietnam or the philipinnes.
the dj-brothers andi and hannes teichmann, originally from regensburg / germany, were exposed to music by their father, the jazz saxophonist ulrich teichmann , right from the early days. at the young age of 12 and 9 they formed their first band totalschaden (“write-off”). during their teenage years they matured to be leading figures in the regional music scene and later became founding members of the band beige gt which would grow to national and international fame after their debut album “jukebox heroes”.
as electronic music producers they founded their own record label festplatten and also release on such internationally acclaimed labels as kompakt (cologne) or l.age d.or (hamburg). they quickly found themselves becoming djs in-demand and toured germany and europe, and later on intercontinental extensively. in 2001 they also started the cooperation teichmann hurt with the composer/zither player leopold hurt. in 2002 the city of regensburg awarded the teichmann brothers with the culture price of the year for their long lasting contributions to and activities for the youth culture of city. they became the youngest award winners in the history of regensburg.
in the same year they joined up with fellow musicians and performing artists to found an art association called kunstverein graz ev, which created not only an inspiring work space but also an independent room for regular exhibitions, symposiums, concerts and other cultural events (2002-2008).
2007 they released their album debut "the number of the beat" on munich based label disko b and as an exclusive japanese version on the tokio based label leitfaden.
2007 andi also startet to play guitar in the experimental noise popband the happy end.
the brothers now live and work in berlin.

The 4th release on diaphan music comes as a VA with 4 strong trax, that are already played by a lot of national and international artists like Brothers Vibe, Anthony Collins, Nekes, Ray Okpara, Retrac from the Acid Casuals and so on, just to name some of them. On A1 Spiky makes his debut with “forest trees”: a minimal track that generates a very funky groove with its cleverly arranged horn sequences. “Dusty hands” on A2 is much deeper with its fat bass lines and some “housy” chords and vocals. The track is written/produced by Lee Fraged, the mastermind of the net-label “THIS SIDE MUSIC”. “Coowee” on B1 is written/ produced by Little Fritter. A young Australian artist who has already released some first cool tracks on Labels such as Affin and Catwash. Our comment on that amazing tune is: “damn driving House Music as its best” from the first to the last second. And last but not least “Metro” on B2, a minimal stomping track that really burns, produced by D-Cut. A very experienced artist who runs his own net-label “JACKSUM RECORDS”.
