Tempei Nakamura started playing the piano from the age of five. But he completely stopped during jr. high/high school, as he was busy rebelling and street fighting. At 17, he was kicked out of school, and he left home for Osaka to continue his downward spiral as he worked in deconstruction earning minimum wage. Months past as his life was going no where, when he realized that the only thing he had any passion for was music when he was a child. He got himself enrolled into a music conservatoire, and then went on to OsakaUniversity of Arts to further study classical and jazz. During his 2nd year of University, Tempei discovered the music of Hungarian virtuoso Georges Cziffra (1921 - 1994), which changed his life - he decided he would become a composer / pianist that would go beyond genres, borders, nationality, and age.
After graduating University, he composed piano-only pieces, and actively took part in piano recitals. In 2005, he produced his own CD, with all original pieces. He now lives in New York, studying and devoting his time to writing more music. As a pianist, he is unique, and does not have the typical elite pianist background, but his diversity, passion, and curiosity for knowledge/experience mixed with his technique make his compositions so original and exciting. He writes ballads inspired from everyday gestures and scenes, forceful pieces that images the waltz of the“Oni” (Japanese demons), and fantastical pieces about outer space - his music cannot be categorized by genre, but there should be something for everyone.

大阪芸術大学演奏学科でクラシックを学びながらジャズとプログレッシブロックと作曲を独学で学ぶ。
2004年7月に全てオリジナルのアルバム「Tempei」をリリースまた、2004年に4度ＴＶ出演する。
その後関西と東京でいくつかのコンサートやライブを開き現在はNYのNew York Piano Academyに勉強しに留学中。クラシック作曲をロン・イエディディアにジャズをハイム・コットンに学ぶ。2006年に東芝EMIの音大生オーディションで幻想曲が優秀作品賞を受賞。2007夏、セカンドアルバム制作予定。

Hi Tempei - my friend Honda Yoko sent me your Fantasy track and it's one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. It reminds me a little bit of a Uematsu Nobuo track (from the film FF Advent Children). Anyway you're awesome!
