Ten Pound Elephant (TPE) was born in late 2006 with the vision of creating funk-based, edgy, psychedelic, and jazz influenced music to make people dance. Mission accomplished! By mid 2007, this Denver-based group comprised of fresh and skilled musicians began to hone in on a sound that blends elements of Galactic, The Meters, Jimi Hendrix, MMW, Thievery Corporation, and Miles Davis. The result of this mixture is best described with one word: dirtyFUNKagroovalicious.
This instrumental group is consistently bringing a fresh sound to the ears of the audience and making a few of them get on down.

Hey there – FGC is hitting Colorado this week for a run of four great shows! Not one, but TWO, appearances at Denver’s Dancin’ in the Streets Fest August 7-9, including a Friday latenight at Quixote’s, and a Sunday evening performance between Leftover Salmon’s sets. We’ll also make our debut at the Mishawaka Amphitheatre near Fort Collins on Saturday, and return to 320 South in Breckenridge for a show with the Dirty Dozen Brass Band the following Tuesday.
