I'm the bass player for British indie band, The Wedding Present and an ex-member of 90's London-based trio, Goya Dress. My first solo album, A Casa Verde, is out now! All cover versions, it's a collection of songs by friends and people I know, including David Gedge, Astrid Williamson and Simone White. The tracks posted here are by Hank Starrs and Hugh Barker (from London band, Animals That Swim) and Dean Hawksley (Temple Cloud Country Club).
This August I'm playing at The Edge of the Sea Festival in Brighton. Check this link: http://www.last.fm/event/1059617+At+the+Edge+of+the+Sea
All this last week, monday to friday, "A casa verde", disco grande of the week, i play every day. And... the listeners ask me: the title? any reference of Galicia or Portugal?
A Casa Verde sounds wonderful ! It's on my shopping list right now.
But more than that I wanted to say how much I love the classic Ampeg/Fender sound and the playing style that you use with the Weddoes... It's just THE BEST! Your vocals with David are perfect too, but it's that bass sound that takes my breath away. Just out of interest, have you ever met Melissa Auf der Maur ? Because the similarities in your playing are incredible, and I love both of you for that !
If you ever want to sell that cumbersome 8x10 cab, please let me know ;-)
