Thea Crudi nasce il 19 maggio 1988 a Cattolica (RN), da padre italiano e madre finlandese. Oltre all’italiano, parla inglese, finlandese, francese e tedesco. Dall’età di 17 anni studia jazz con Martina Grossi, Gabriele Zanchini, Sandra Cartolari, e frequenta seminari di Maria Pia De Vito, Sheila Jordan, Jay Clayton e Roberta Gambarini, ottenendo ottimi riscontri. Nel frattempo inizia a esibirsi in club e teatri del riminese.
Nel 2006, appena diciottenne, studia a Berlino e si esibisce nei principali locali della città, e, rientrata in Italia, incide il suo primo cd “Thea for two”, accompagnata dal maestro Marco di Meo alla chitarra.
Nel 2007 appare come special guest nel concerto “Omaggio a Gershwin” di Fabrizio Bosso e Renato Sellani al Teatro Massari di San Giovanni in Marignano (RN), esibizione che la battezza come “il futuro del vocal jazz italiano“. Da allora affronta decine di concerti in Italia ed Europa, e apre le esibizioni italiane di Lena Conquest e Dave Burrell, Sarah Jane Morris, Tuck and Patti, Peggy Stern.
Nel 2008 viene ammessa al Corso Sperimentale di Jazz diretto dal maestro Bruno Tommaso, presso il Conservatorio “G. Rossini” di Pesaro, e viene pubblicato il suo primo cd in quintetto, dal titolo “Star Eyes”, distribuito da Cinedelic Records. Nel corso del 2008 si aggiudica inoltre l’Hengel Gualdi Jazz Award al Festival delle Arti di Bologna - diretto da Andrea Mingardi - premio che le permetterà di aprire due concerti del "Grazie a tutti" Tour di Gianni Morandi, e di esibirsi all’edizione 2009 di Umbria Jazz.
