Wie beschreibt man The Age Of Sound am besten? Als Indie-Pop Monster? Nein, Monster klingt so negativ... Indie-Pop? Zu allgemein... Indie-Rock-Brit-Pop-Beatles-Oasis-Sound- verbindendes-Mod-Happening-auf-acht-Beinen….vielleicht!? Es ist um einiges leichter, einen leckeren roten Apfel zu umschreiben, als diese 2006 gegründete Band aus Hamburg. .. Seit ihrer Gründung arbeiten Oliver Grandt (Gesang / Gitarre), Sebastian Gätcke (Gitarre), Hauke Winkler (Bass / Cello / Gesang) und Steffi Cordes (Drums) nicht nur konzentriert an ihrer Musik, sondern auch stetig daran sich bundesweit eine Fan-Gemeinde zu erspielen. So hat die Band nicht nur in ihrer Heimatstadt Hamburg mittlerweile nahezu jeden Club nicht nur einmal bespielt, sondern, zusammen mit ihren Freunden von Kazimir, auch im Winter 2007/2008 und im Sommer 2008 zwei kleine jeweils sieben Daten umfassende Touren selbstständig zusammen gebucht. Daneben spielten The Age Of Sound 2008 eine Support-Show für ART BRUT in der Großen Freiheit/Hamburg, standen im norddeutschen Finale des Emergenza Wettbewerbs, teilten sich auf dem JuWi-Fest in Münster die Bühne mit POHLMANN und H-BLOCKX und konnten ohne ein Label oder eine Veröffentlichung zu haben, Senderbesuche bei u.a. Radio Hamburg, RBB Fritz oder Alster Radio Hamburg verbuchen. .. All diese Auftritte führten dazu, dass der FC St. Pauli auf die Band aufmerksam wurde, sie für diverse Partys engagierte, um sie schließlich 2009 zur Saisoneröffnung direkt vor dem Haupteingang des Millerntor Stadions auftreten zu lassen. Seitdem darf die Band auch das Logo des FC St. Pauli für Eigenwerbung nutzen! So wurden im Laufe der Zeit immer mehr Leute auf die Band aufmerksam. Unter anderem auch der Hamburger Produzent Bente Faust und die Hamburger Agentur brillJant alternatives, die sich seit 2008 um die Management Belange der Band kümmert und die Songs gemeinsam mit der Band weiter entwickelt hat, um Ende 2009 endlich den großen Schritt in Richtung Album Produktion zu wagen. .. The Age Of Sound haben ihr Album stilgerecht und passend zum Sound mit einer analogen 24-Spur Bandmaschine im OffYaTree Studio Hamburg mit Bente Faust produziert und werden dieses der breiten Öffentlichkeit auf dem im Frühjahr 2011 erscheinenden Debüt Album „…and then came the age of sound…" präsentieren. Neben den beiden Singles „Substitute", einer treibenden Akustik-Gitarren Nummer, die einem amerikanischen Road-movie gerecht werden würde, und „On a Sunday", einer melancholischen Alternative-Pop Nummer, deren eingängiger Refrain einen nicht nur gefangen nimmt, sondern auch unverhofft zu Bewegung verleitet, zeigt die Band auf ihrem Debüt Album noch viele andere Facetten ihres Könnens und ihres Gefühls für schöne Melodien. Mit „Man in the frame" oder „Dance Forever Once Again" zeigt die Band ihre Qualität was die balladesken, mit Geige und Cello versetzten, leisen Töne angeht, während sie bei „Anyone" oder „Stray Dog" beweist, dass sie auch Rock kann und in Songs wie „Just Wanna Let You Know" oder eben den beiden besagten Singles ihr Pop-Ader auslebt!.. Zum Auftakt der Promotion Kampagne zum Debüt Album von The Age Of Sound hat die Band die Möglichkeit The Domino State aus London, einer der vielversprechendsten Newcomer Bands der letzten Jahre, supporten zu dürfen!.. .. .. Since they got together Oliver Grandt (vocals/guitar), Sebastian Gätcke (lead guitar), Hauke Winkler (bass/cello/backing vocals) and Stefanie Cordes did not just work hard on their music but also on establishing a fan base in Germany. Not only did they play pretty much every club in Hamburg more than once, together with their friends from Kazimir they also organised two little tours of Germany with seven gigs each in the winter of 2007/2008 and the summer of 2008. Besides that they played a support show for Art Brut in the Großen Freiheit 36/Hamburg, played on the JuWi-Festival in Münster with Pohlmann and the H-Blockx, made it to the northern Gemany final of the Emergenza Festival, the biggest newcomer festival in the world, provided the soundtrack to a couple of short movies and had airplay and studio time on big major radio stations such as Radio Hamburg, Delta Radio, Radio Fritz and Alster Radio. All that with no label and nothing more than a couple of demos. .. This led to being picked up by the agency brillJant alternatives from Hamburg which helped the band develop further and work on their big goal, the debut album, which was recorded in proper style on a 24 track analog tape recorder and will be released in the spring of 2011. .. It’s a whole lot easier to describe a nice tasty red apple than this band from Hamburg/Germany that was founded six years ago. Over that time span Oliver „Hazel Brown“ Grandt (vocals, guitar), Sebastian Gätcke (guitar), Hauke „Wix“ Winkler (bass, cello) and Stefanie „Miss Schmiss“ Cordes had about 140 cheered gigs, made it to the Northern Gemany final of the Emergenza Festival, the biggest newcomer festival in the world, provided the soundtrack to a couple of short movies, had airplay and studio time on big major radio stations such as Radio Hamburg, Delta Radio, Radio Fritz and Alster Radio. But the best way to describe the Age of Sound is probably through their music.

Es ist um einiges leichter, einen leckeren roten Apfel zu umschreiben, als diese vor ca. sechs Jahren gegründete Band aus Hamburg. Über 150 umfeierte Auftritte konnten Oliver „Hazel Brown“ Grandt (Gesang, Gitarre), Sebastian Gätcke (Gitarre), Hauke „Wix“ Winkler (Bass, Cello) und Stefanie „Miss Schmiss“ Cordes bisher für sich verbuchen. So spielten sie unter anderem im Norddeutschland Finale des weltweit größten Nachwuchswettbewerbs Emergenza, als Vorband der britischen Rock-Band Art Brut, der New Yorker Ra Ra Riot, lieferten den Soundtrack zu mehreren Kurzfilmen und bekamen auf großen Radiostationen wie Radio Hamburg, Delta Radio Radio Fritz oder Alster Radio Airplay. Zudem lassen sich auch zwei selbstorganisierte Deutschlandtouren in ihrer Biographie finden. Am besten beschreiben sich the Age of Sound aber wohl selbst durch ihre Musik. Im Herbst 2009 nahmen sie schließlich ihr Debüt auf, was 2010 endlich veröffentlicht werden soll.
