Bio
"In a world where musicians seem increasingly content to follow established formulas, its en-couraging to find a band that can defy boundaries with skill and grace."
~ Lisa McIntyre, Performer Magazine (NE Edition)
Rooted in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts, The Alchemystics fuse diverse individual styles, backgrounds, & experiences into a unique and uplifting sound embracing reggae, hip hop, soul, and dub. Thoughtfully crafted songs carry positive messages as compelling as the rhythms that drive them; crowds respond instinctively & enthusiastically.
In early 2011, The Alchemystics will release their fourth album following their EP and a full length live recording in 2008. The group has toured extensively throughout the Northeast and has ventured from Maine to the Carolinas gaining fans in their wake.
The Alchemystics and its members shared the stage with music luminaries such as Stephen Marley, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Clipse, The Coup, Angelique Kidjo, The Brazilian Girls, The Abyssinians, Louis Logic, Midnite, John Brown's Body, Stephen Marley, Common Market, Beat Science, Damian Marley, Sister Carol, Dennis Brown, Busta Rhymes, Yellow Man, Burning Spear, Gil Scott Heron, Culture, Steel Pulse, Angelique Kidjo, Mighty Sparrow, The Brazilian Girls, Israel Vibration, Common Market, King Sunny Ade, Bonnie Raitt, and Taj Mahal.
The Alchemystics have gained some serious traction on the festival scene, wowing audiences at the Nateva Festival in Maine as well as the Strange Creek Music Festival in MA. Check out what the press has to say:
"The Alchemystics might be one of the most hardworking bands on the festival scene right now- these guys are everywhere! Their stage presence was incredible and I was about two cups of Sunset Blush away from jumping on stage with them because they looked like they were having so much fun." ~ Angie KB, Buntology.com
"The Alchemystics were another new band, to this critic anyway, that thoroughly impressed and made many new fans with a stirring set. Similar to the Roots, this band employs real musicians playing rock instruments, guitar, bass, drums, percussion and keyboards, while several members add harmony vocals." ~ Bill Clifford, PopMatters
For Bookings contact: Phil@simonsaysbooking.com
(978) 544-5110 -

- Tone2 years ago"False Flags" is the first music video off of Moke and Tone's debut album "Shot Heard Round The World LP", to be released Fall 2010, on Mystika Music. In it, Mokeout (Hardtimes Records), and Tone (of The Problemaddicts) recount contrasting perspectives from ground zero on the morning of September 11th, 2001. Tools (Hardtimes Records) tells the story of a war torn child in Iraq. Please take time to watch this and if you feel inclined, spread the word. PEACE.
