ATTENTION EVERYONE!!! THE AMALGAMATORS NEW CD "MY HEART'S PART" IS ALMOST HERE! STAY TUNED FOR MORE DETAILS...
Hugh Hansen-Mandolin/Guitar: By night, this dude lays the backwoods mojo on the rock tip with cascading rivulets of musical emanations. By day, Hugh is employed by Dietze Music House, where he repairs all types of musical stringed instruments and dispenses expert advice on a vast array of subjects. Originally from Madison County Nebraska in the heart of moonshine country, Hugh was raised on the music of Jefferson Starship and Kenny Loggins. These early influences remain predominant is his playing, and provide the backdrop for The Amalgamators' haunting melodies.
Pat Bradley-Vocals/Guitar: Whether it's driving guitar rhythms, soulful vocals or processing insurance claims, Pat gives it everything he's got. And that's quite a bit. He's a prolific and inventive songwriter unbound by genre, convention, or the diatonic scale for that matter. A veteran of the Lincoln music scene, Pat has played with some of the highest ranking members of the elite class of local cool guys. He was also a member of the Pius X trapshooting team, so don't even think about giving him any crap cause he can hit a bird in the eye on the fly, and that's no lie!
Mark Wolberg-Bass/Vocals: Holding down the low end for the Amalgamators is Mark Wolberg, (no relation so don't even go there.) Though a talented singer, guitar, and accordian player, putting the boom in front of the chicka chickas is what he's all about. Unlike most bass players, he knows there's no "I" in "TEAM" and is always willing to step up and do the heavy hitting. Speaking of heavy hitting, in Marks day job at The Mill, (Lincoln's premier coffeehouse) he whips us breve lattes that send even the hardest-core caffiends running for the little boys room with their tails between their legs. Seriously though, Mark's a true artist and his bass lines are imaginative and thoughtful. Without his steady thumping, the Amalgamators would sound as naked as the day the Lord made them, and that would be a sin and probably illegal too!
Nick Buller-Drums: Rollin with a gangsta lean, smooth like mayonaise, and sweet as mother's milk, Nick plays the role of sacred rhythm keeper. He skillfully shepherds lost mandolin and guitar players back to the beat like stink finding its way back to a drunken hobo. Nick also finds daytime employment with the friendly folks at Dietze Music, where he sells everything from clarinets to clavinovas. A child prodigy proficient at many instruments, Nick instead chose to pursue percussion. But don't let that stick in his hand fool you. His rudiments are anything but rudimentary. His beats are complex yet simple, and always perfectly tasteful.
Just stoping by to say HI. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in day to day life we forget our friends. So I'm trying to let everyone of my friends know how much they mean to me. Thanks so much for for being my friend.
ok, so this may not exactly be p.c. .... but as a local band i think you should get out and support other local bands 'cause they'll be there for you since y'all are local....hmm. rc dub this saturday at the zoo bar.
Well, cry me a river, Hugh!!! So you finally found something to do with your handmade instruments!!! Well...I'm retired...quit EZ after about a year and went back to work put in my time. Now all I do is music...work up at etown as a volunteer, so I get to jam with some 'stars' once in a while. I'm glad to see you making music in Lincoln. Did you ever finish that mandolin? Got me four now...an A type Flatiron, a custom built F-type, an F-type Mandola and an F-type Octave Mandolin. You got to come over here sometime and check out the collection. Ain't seen Keith for a while...got himself in some trouble a while back. Write me at docrichards@juno.com. Keep banging them strings!!!

I'm sorry, folks, but at least half of the lyrics to "If I Had a Gun" are stolen from the 1936 Vermillion 78 rpm single of Hank Bardem's "Chocolate Swirl Blues" and the other half are a blatant rip from Lemuel Luffler's 1927 race hit, "Drag a Coon to Water."
