WHAT THE CRITICS SAY:
"Frightening yet endearing" – The New Yorker;
"A strangely narcotic collection of sexy (if slightly unsettling) songs" – TimeOut New York;
"His style is happily stream-of-conscious, weirdly romantic, even silly. This makes his approach to music and film making Duchampian, even fearless" – Philadelphia City Paper;
"Like a slyly arranged meeting between Mother Goose and Larry Flint" – Charleston Post;
"Otherworldy rock and roll that’s surprising and hilarious" – Elle Magazine;
"This gesamtkunstwerk revolves around a very distinct artistic vision" – Sentamentalist;
"Every album is a solar eclipse of images that emotes a strange euphoria in your bloodstream" – Panache;
"Their specialty is a dark and sometimes cryptic sarcasm that encases a surprising core belief in the power of love" – SOMA;
"Cory McAbee comes on like a modern William Blake, spinning twisted and surreal tales full of symbolism" -- Santa Barbara Independent;
"Cory McAbee is the closest thing to Leonardo da Vinci that we’ve got." -- SF Bay Guardian
"How to describe this? Disturbing, beautiful, and frightening, all in one savage aural assault" -- Etch Magazine

Music Monday: DFW PUNK
Rated NR; 68min; Director:Laura Tabor-Huerta
Location: Alamo Downtown

This show is a part of the Music Monday Signature Series, Click to See More

Sponsored by Austin's greatest music store, End of an Ear Records, and
Austin's most essential vintage furniture and decor store, Room
Service.

A documentary about the Dallas & Fort Worth, Texas punk and new wave
music scene. It covers the early years in the late 1970's to the
middle years in the late 1990's and gives a tiny glimpse of where
those eras have led punk to now. In the documentary, fifty people were
interviewed between the ages of 12 and 50 about their opinion of what
punk is and isn't and what place they hold in the punk scene. Some
notable people interviewed are: Bobby Soxx, George Gimarc, Barry Kooda
and MC 900 Ft Jesus. For old (and young) Big D and Cowtown punk
rockers, this screening is likely to be a family reunion. For everyone
else it's an exciting look at the workings of a scene.
Featuring a huge amount of stunning rare footage including live
performances by The Ralphs, The Nervebreakers, The Telefones, Teenage
Queers, Why Am I? and Riot Squad, among many more. Watching DFW PUNK
will give you the feeling of photocopied exhilaration you got from
finding that new zine that spoke directly to you.

Kid Policy: 18 and up; Children 6 and up will be allowed only with a
parent or guardian. No children under the age of 6 will be allowed.

Hi,

I'm happy to announce that my new album "Songs From The Films Of David Lynch" is out now.

"Truly unsettling and perplexingly brilliant... testament to both the quality of Lynch’s soundtracks and Truax’s talents" - The Skinny

Lynch Album Cover Medium jpg

"Truax is paying homage to a kindred spirit with this album. It's the best kind of tribute – affectionate and respectful, but with its own quirks and imaginative leaps and its own distinct identity." -The Scotsman

Thanks for adding me. I love everything you do. I must say the Dance Contest scene in "American Astronaut" is one of my favorite movie scenes ever. My next mission in life is to acquire that soundtrack.
