The Blank Tapes was dreamed up by Matt Adams a long long time ago...
The Blank Tapes is really just me with my friends helping me out for shows. i write, record and play all the instruments on my albums (99% of the time). i have a band in the bay area and sometimes another in orange county that both play as the blank tapes. I just released a 20 song compilation of me & my friends' music called "UNIVERSAL WESTERN ATTRACTIONS". My cover album "friends & favorites" is finally available too. i silkscreened and sewed up only 300 copies so get 'em before they run out. Knitting Factory, Spaceland, the Echo, Largo (Los Angeles). Lit Lounge, Cake Shop, Pete's Candy Store (NY). We've played with the likes of Sean Hayes, Thao with the Get Down Stay Down, Greg Ashley (gris gris), Little Wings, the Microphones, Jeremy Jay, Graves, Sky Saxon (the seeds), Richard Swift, Ara Anderson, the Growlers, Japanese Motors, Karl Blau, Adam Selzer (Norfolk & Western), David Ivar Herman Dune, Port o'brien, Dufus, Golden Boots, Jolie Holland, DeerTick, and lots more i can't recall at the moment...
that was a great show at the knockout the other night, some of the best stuff i've heard in the city. thank you for getting myself and ashley in. always good to run into people in the street, it's been happening quite a lot lately.
dearest blankest of tapes, it looks like yer schedule is very very full this summer, yet i was hoping that there may be the slightest chance that you could all magickally teleport yourself to mount diablo state park on august 1st for a benefit concert/campout extraordiare...if not we will play your music on a battery operated boombox and dance a little dance. <3 emakhet
