Hard rock of the late 60's, 70's 80's and early 90's with some new stuff from the bands of those eras, heavy metal of ALL kinds (yes, even some hair metal every now and then! But no worries, i also tend to get heavier than most shows of my type.) mainly from the 70's and 80's, but i'll also play any interesting bands from the 90's and today as well, and maybe some 70's and 80's punk/hardcore every now and then. Add in a dash of nonsensical ramblings, wide open nerdiness due excessive exposure to comic books, pro wrestling, episodes of The Twilight Zone and an admittedly un-metal fascination for all things Disney and childish humor that'll make your eight year old kid cringe in disgust and you get a pretty good handle of what the Blasting Zone is all about.

Eddie Trunk's Friday Night Rocks, except heavier, deeper and a higher ratio of successful attempts at being funny, a hangover, except without the puke but with the headache, and Rush Limbaugh except without Rush Limbaugh or the right wing political talk. Ok, it's not like Rush Limbaugh AT ALL, but i did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
I started this show with a goal in mind: to be YOUR weekly three hour fix of all things hard rock and heavy metal, to wreck your neck, blow your speakers to high hell, make your ears BLEED.....in other words, kick your weekend off the right way, the ONLY way…..RIGHT IN THE ASS!!! I will be your headbangin' host (with the most) as you take a journey every Friday night through the world of loud, sloppy, snotty classic punk (sometimes), stone solid, ear ringing hard rock and of course, balls to the wall, skin searing, skull bashing, blistering heavy metal! In addition to the usual kick ass chaos, i'll be doing a special segment at the 8:00 hour, i like to call "The Three Point Shot", where i play three songs in a row with a common theme, be it lyrical theme, same music scene, country, time frame, three songs from one band, related bands, any little weird connection i can find, WHATEVER! Anything goes! I also have a segment in the final hour I like to call “Nick’s Dynamite Cover”, where I’ll play one cover song (a band playing a another band’s song) every week.
So kick back, grab a beer, turn up the volume all the way to eleven and prepare to BANG! YOUR! HEAD! on "The Blasting Zone" with me, your headbanging host with the most, Dynamite Nick!
