In the summer of 2006, guitarist/songwriting cousins Dan and Paddy got together with a shared vision. A vision that included music, tailored shorts, and various types of cheese. Needing to add rhythm, they rescued Lee from the seedy, underground world of drumming for a church choir and convinced him that salvation lay in electric music. Soon after, they lured bass guitarist Steve into the fold, persuading him that experience in a full band might just be the stepping stone he needed to go on and learn a real musical instrument. Realising that tailored shorts could only hinder their progress, they ditched them and concentrated on blending the other parts of the vision into the creation of The Brackets. A couple of years of songwriting, rehearsing, and gigging their pantaloons off later, the band now perform the sort of jumpy indie that will have you jumping independently of your will (see what we did there? No, us neither). In 2008, The Brackets can proudly say that they are to music what mint green summer slacks are to fashion. Yes, really.
