Spontaneous, witty and original; Chris Brooker has emerged as one of the hottest free agents on the UK comedy circuit. No two gigs are the same thanks to his unique mixture of top class material and inspired improvisation. Since his debut in 2001, Chris has worked the length and breadth of this country and beyond, sharing his observations and dragging unsuspecting audience members into his world for the night. Anyone in the building can be a part of the show at a moments notice, especially if they can cartwheel.
Now a firmly established force on the Manchester comedy circuit, Chris has a reputation as a superb compere with an infectious amiability that can liven even the coldest rooms. In 2005 he also debuted his debut one man show "Chris Brooker's Path Of Least Resistance" to critical and audience acclaim. Chris is also a part of the ComedySportz UK improvisation troupe based in the North West and the resident compere of Three Minute Warning, the new act night at The Limelight Comedy Club in Crewe.

Chris Brooker's Interests
General
Comedy. I'm fairly sure I used to like other things but I can't remember anymore...
Music
Yes, I like music. Apparently it makes the people come together. Well, if you believe Madonna. She lost my trust with that whole express yourself debacle. I did and look where it got me?
Movies
The Blues Brothers is brilliant. Blues Brothers 2000 is an insult...
Television
Don't watch a lot of TV. Celebrity Garden Makeover Wife Challenge Swap? Bollocks more like.
Books
John Irving's books are great. I also recommend Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. See, the apocalypse can be funny.
Heroes
I've decided to start being other people's hero for a change. Not in such an obtuse manner that I have to wear my underwear on the outside mind. The people that have changed me for the better know who they are. I'm thankful for you every day of my life.
About me: Sane, well balanced and only on minimal medication. Like most normal people the main thrust of my life is the need to have rooms full of strangers love me. As any Jongleurs audience member would tell you, I do this completely on the fly and any comedian that writes material beforehand is clearly cheating and has no business being on stage. I also love hecklers that just want to help, especially when they say "Carry on... You're alright." as faint and slightly damning approval makes my night.
Despite this opening salvo I'm not a bitter man.
Oh look, here are lots of pictures of me.
I am, in fact, a strikingly pretty man. Oh look, moving pictures of me...

See? I'm dead funny. If you can book me then book me now while I'm relatively affordable.
Who I'd like to meet: A sell out audience hanging on my every word, preferably at XS Malarkey when I go back each year on my birthday to play the place because I love it so much. Cause, you know, by that point I'll only be playing the smaller clubs as a favour. ;-)
Oh and whichever genius wrote the following scene containing the finest use of swearing in TV history.
Hi there, hope you're doing good. After a damn immense anniversary last month, we've got 2 of the best headline stand-up comedians on one bill coming to bradford! My first ever spit-take. Hopefully not my last. I'll be passing Dont Mention the Floods on when I leave Carlsle in summer, but i'll be doing a 'best of' show or something beforehand, so I may bear you in mind ;)

On Tues sept 18th Mick ferry presents possibly our funniest line up yet - TONY BURGESS 'the clown prince of Manchester; nFormer City Life comedian Of the Year and proud possessor of some of the tightest gags on the circuit, Tony is now better known as DJ Troy FM from BBC's 'Ideal' and is well worth the price of the admission alone.
And if that wasn't enough, opening the show is...
Ian Cognito is one of the best comics on the national circuit, a veteran who clearly knows what he’s doing as he spits his darkly humorous vitriol over an unsuspecting crowd. Outspoken, opinionated, and totally clued up, this man’s take on the world will have you convinced and convulsed (with laughter). 2005 saw him tour the UK in a on
