TBK NEWS

(12/31/08 17:12)
So that's that for 2008. The year that starts in a few hours will yield a new TBK album, and who knows what else. We'll do some traveling, and hopefully see everyone that wants to see us. I'll put up a new website with new music and new videos. Patrick will get married. We'll have a new president. And a few other things, I'm sure...

(05/06/08 8:39)
An exclusive song of ours can be found on a new 7" record, which is split with the fine Boston band Plumerai. It can be purchased HERE.

Our Waiting For The Time To Be Right LP package has finally been released. If you purchase the 180-gram LP HERE, you'll receive a limited edition t-shirt, and a short run remix CD-R.

Also, we've started a studio diary in our 'Blog' section. If you're interested in our recording process, check it out...we'll be updating it weekly while we record our new album.

And one last thing, we've got a new t-shirt available at ToneVendor. It was designed by Melissa Sherman, and it's printed on fine olive American Apparel t-shirts. It can be purchased HERE.

(04/01/08 8:39)
Working on songs...but very soon you'll find a new 7-inch, the WFTTTBR LP package, and a studio diary. Check back if you're interested in any of that.

(02/18/08 8:46)
Some of our SXSW appearances are confirmed. There may be more shows added, so check back if you'd like to see us. We hope to see you there.

(01/01/08 11:09)
We're heading back to SXSW with our friends The Secret Shine in March. If you'd like us to participate in your SXSW show/party, write Susan at Clairecords (susan@clairecords.com).

(12/31/07 11:13)
The shows this weekend are at the Luna Lounge (Friday) and Europa (Saturday). There has been some confusion about this, but that's the final word. And we'll be heading back to SXSW this year...no details yet, but soon.

(10/01/07 9:36)
Later this week we'll be heading to Canada for a couple of shows. The first performance will be at the Pop Montreal festival. Details for that show can be found here. The second will be at the Tiger Bar in Toronto. At both shows, we'll be selling our new Moonlit Race EP (which does not hit stores until 11/6). We don't cross the border too often, so we hope to see you there.

(08/28/07 08:27)
Let me apologize right off the bat, because it's been so long since our last update. Since we returned from our June tour, we've had a lot of things going on (settling into new apartments, finding new jobs, getting married!). And another apology to everyone interested in the Waiting For The Time To Be Right LP. We've got them (I'm looking at one right now), but it has problems. It's taken a while to get to the bottom of it all, but they are pressing more LPs right now. It will finally be released on November 6th, which is the same day we'll release our odds-n-ends EP, the Moonlit Race EP. And remember, every LP purchase from ToneVendor will include a free remix CD-R called Inside Waiting For The Time To Be Right, and the first 100 orders will include a limited edition t-shirt (as usual, if you'd like to submit a t-shirt design idea, just write jon@thebrotherkite.com. all submissions will be considered, and your order is on-the-house if we use your design). We'll also be returning to Canada in October, and trying out a new local venue a few weeks later.

(05/22/07 16:21)
A new song of ours ("Half Century") appears on a recently released Adult Swim compilation called Warm & Scratchy. In addition to TBK, it features exclusive tunes from other great bands (TV On The Radio, The Raveonettes, Broken Social Scene, etc). You can download it (with artwork) for free here: Warm & Scratchy.

(05/01/07 20:56)
We're going to head south in June. Some shows have been posted, and there are more to come. If you'd like to help by suggesting a venue, record store, or place to eat or sleep, please email susan@clairecords.com. And as always, print and hang a show poster for a guestlist spot (if available). See you soon.

(04/10/07 12:31)
Greetings. Clairecords will release Waiting For The Time To Be Right on limited edition 180 gram vinyl. We don't have a release date yet, but soon. We're also putting together a five song CD tentatively titled the Moonlit Race EP. No date for that yet either, but we'll post information about both releases as soon as we have it. And another tour is in the works. Bye for now.

(02/02/07 15:11)
We're back from tour. Many thanks to the great midwest for not burying us in snow. And thanks to Susan for all her help. We'll be playing a few local(ish) shows here and there while we plan our next trip. Oh, and check out the new tV t-shirts. They look great, and are reasonably priced.

(12/22/06 8:14)
Just a quick note to thank everyone who called WFTTTBR one of the best records of 2006. Especially all the hardworking bloggers: JamBase, Mundane Sounds, The Line Of Best Fit, Excellent, Charlatantric, More Cowbell, Definitely Maybe, and everyone else. Merry Christmas, hope to see you in 2007.

(12/11/06 9:31)
Our January jaunt has been solidified. Perhaps we'll see you while we're out and about. If you are in the area of any of our upcoming shows, and would like to recommend a place to stay, eat, or buy records, please email us: hello@thebrotherkite.com.

(09/25/06 13:56)
Waiting For The Time To Be Right is out now on Clairecords. To order the CD straight from the source, please click here to order. To download it from iTunes, please click here. Thank you.

URGENT: Wanted Two Bands for Label Consideration

There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.

1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.

* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist.
** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong.
*** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.

2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.

* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist.
** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong.
*** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.

XXX - If you meet the minimum qualifications as described above. Email a link for your MySpace Page and if applicable, a link for your website to: recordingartistsearch@gmail.com

Only send one email with your links. Due to the volume of responses normally received for these types of opportunities. After review of your material, you will only be contacted if there is an interest in attending one of your shows by a label representative. As such please to not send any follow up emails regarding selections. If you were not contacted back, there was not an interest.

Thank You.
