Forged under the inspiration of post-punk and angular melodies, the Burning Hotels cut through modern rock with driving sounds and propulsive rhythms. The band made their recording debut with a self-released EP titled, Eighty Five Mirrors, licensed by Razor & Tie. This EP won the Fort Worth Weekly’s Album of the Year. In the fall of 2009, the band will release their debut full length LP and continue to tour. Mark Needham (The Killers, Bloc Party) mixed this upcoming album tentatively titled, Novels. The Burning Hotels have previously supported the Cribs, the Horrors, Ladytron, the Octopus Project, the Appleseed Cast along with countless other major artists at various festivals across the nation. Also this fall, the Burning Hotels will be acting (as themselves) in Summit Entertainment’s nationwide release of Bandslam. The band’s hit song “Stuck In The Middle” will also be featured on the Hollywood Records soundtrack. Both the film and the soundtrack will include music from the likes of David Bowie, the Velvet Underground, Nick Drake and Wilco. Be sure to pick up your copy of the new CD single “Austin’s Birthday”. The release features the brand new song along with stylish remixes of the fan favorite “Stuck In The Middle” by Barron Von Luxxury and Flip 808.North Texas talent makes sound waves at SXSW. The Burning Hotels certainly made a mark – they stopped just short of pulverizing the upstairs venue where they played. Angular, stylish and steeped in the punchy sounds of the ’80s, the Hotels are, well, on fire. – Preston Jones, Fort Worth Star Telegram and DFW.comThe Burning Hotels live on the edge of their lightning quick indie songs. A busy '09 will keep the trendy foursome as the band to catch. – Caroline Collier, FW WeeklyAll the cool elements of Bloc Party and People In Planes, but in our own backyard. – Alan Ayo, KDGEFort Worth's Burning Hotels remind me of something, but I just can't put a finger on it. Which is a good thing; this crew hides their influences well enough to avoid the derivative tag, but you can still feel enough familiarity to stay in the groove. – Jonanna Wider, Dallas ObserverMost bands would theoretically give these songs a more straightforward four-on-the-floor, but Morgan and Mooty's slight resistance to convention give the Burning Hotels a vitality too many other bands only hope for. – Andrew Reilly, Made Loud
The Burning Hotels’ sound is a furious rendering of Strokes-like rhythm and clean, sharp vocals attuned to the likes of Kaiser Chiefs or Franz Ferdinand. Their lightening-fast tempos are only softened by bridge breaks, eerily quiet harmonies amidst a sonic hurricane. Their moody and ultra-cool demeanor on stage is in part what made them stand out, and what got them noticed by director Todd Graff and Fort Worth-bred Jordan Richardson, a music-directing assistant for the movie and Ben Harper’s Relentless7 drummer. – Michaelle Parson, Envy Magazine

I took my 2 kids to see this movie yesterday, I was expecting to sleep through a High School Musical type film, but I was really surprised. I actually quite liked it, and as soon as I heard The Burning Hotels, I had to look them up when I got home, reminded me quite a bit of one of my favourite bands the strokes.
