¡Por fin salió nuestro disco! Hemos recorrido un camino del cual hemos aprendido a convivir con nosotros mismos y con los que nos han rodeado en el transcurso. ¡Lo hemos pasado bien! Hemos conocido a gente que ni soñamos, viajado y recorrido bastantes kilómetros juntos. Hemos compartido comidas y discusiones, risas y más risas además de algún que otro disgusto, pero nada que no supiéramos solucionar con un poco más de sentido del humor. Nos han empezado a amar y a odiar musicalmente. Nos elogian y critican. Las opiniones nos resultan interesantes y cuando son ciegamente pasionales nos gustan más. Es normal, puede ser muy provocativo tener una cantante-modelo que haga letras facilonas y desafine, pero nuestro jazz de peluche nos hace perder el sentido del ridículo con facilidad. Y que se le va a hacer...
Creemos y defendemos lo que hacemos, además, pensamos que nada es definitivo. Nos gusta equivocarnos e incluso aprendemos que a veces, las cosas se hacen por algo, que de pronto, le dan sentido a tu vida o que, por si solas, cumplen una función determinada.
¡Nuestra gira no pudo empezar mejor! En Galicia, tierra que apenas conocíamos y que nos ha conquistado como una buena mujer, por el estómago y luego por sus encantos, su gente y su calor. Allí nos guió David Alvarado, nuestro guitarrista, el más deseado por las chicas. Mientras Fani Ela Nsue (voces) salía escopetada a descubrir la ciudad en la que nos encontrábamos, Luca y Karim (sonido) desaparecían para hacer de nuestra sala un hogar, al igual que Gaby (road-manager) y Santi (backliner) con su sentido del humor inigualable. También mencionar a nuestro conductor, Jose, que preserva nuestras vidas en la carretera. Luego fuimos a País Vasco, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona y Gijón.
Nuestros viajes en rula son de lo más entretenidos gracias a los capítulos de "Perdidos". No podemos haber escogido mejor serie para esos kilómetros en carretera, de hecho nos saben a poco. Tenemos tal enganche que cuando llegamos a nuestro destino, si no ha acabado el capítulo, nos quedamos en la furgo hasta que acabe...jajaja... Qué bien sentirse absorbido por un fenómeno así y sentir la enajenación que te invade hasta sentirte tan perdido como ellos.
Nuestra rutina de bolo es sencilla. Llegamos al lugar dónde se celebrará el concierto, dejamos nuestros bártulos en el camerino y empezamos con la prueba de sonido. Normalmente nos da tiempo ensayar un poco y calentar motores. Luego picamos algo y empezamos a vestirnos, consensuando previamente el vestuario, claro.
El LP “Demo” ha sido producido en NY, grabado con Andrés Levin y sus amigos (Medeski, Angry, Hargrove, Ribot, Vieira, Barber) como habéis podido ver en nuestros teasers. Es el resultado de un año y medio de trabajo que se sintetizó en 5 semanas de estancia allí. Gracias a él, hemos firmado con Warner. Nos han fotografiado Gorka Postigo y Davidelfin ha creado el diseño junto a Grandegraphix. Hemos rodado 2 video-clips y en camino está el tercero. Tenemos editorial con EMI, sponsor de Ford y unos managers, que no son de Huelva (RLM). Hemos tenido vacaciones. Hemos estado de reuniones y hemos comido de todo sin privarnos. Agradecidos de que estéis allí cada día, de que os multipliquéis y os suméis a este proyecto que no ha hecho más que empezar. En realidad queremos seguir siendo nosotros mismos, unos mortales que se han unido inevitablemente y por necesidad, para expresarnos a través de la música.

The Cabriolets
Our album is finally here! We have come a long way in which we have learned how to live with ourselves and with those who came along. And we have had so much fun! We have met people we would have never imagined. We have also travelled many kilometres together and shared dinners, discussions and -in between laughs and giggles- one or two headaches; but nothing we could not handle with a little bit of sense of humour. People have already started to love and hate us, musically speaking. They praise us and they criticize us. We consider these opinions interesting and when they are fully passionate, we like them even more. It is normal; it can be very provocative to have a singer- model who writes easy going lyrics and signs out of tune; but our cuddly jazz makes us loose our sense of the ridiculous with ease. And what can we do about it…
We believe in what we do and we defend it, we also think that nothing is definitive. We like making mistakes and we have even learned that sometimes, things are done for a certain reason, which suddenly may give meaning to your life or just carry out a certain purpose.
Our tour began in Galicia, and it could not have been better! A place which we hardly knew about, but captivated us like a good woman: through our stomach and then with its charming people and warmth. The guide was David Alvarado, our guitarist, the most desired by girls. While Fani (chorus) rushed to discover the charms of the city where we were, Luca and Karim (sound) would disappear to turn the concert hall into our home together with Gabi (road manager) and Santi (backliner) and his unbeatable sense of humour. Also to mention Jose, the driver, who preserves our lives on road. We continued the tour around País Vasco, Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and Gijón.
Our rula (van) journeys are the most entertaining thanks to “Lost”. We could not have chosen a better series for such long distance trips. In fact, we needed even more! We get so absorbed that when we get to our destination, if the chapter has not finished, we stay in the van until it finishes…ha-ha-ha…. It feels so good to get carried away by such a phenomenon and to feel the insanity invading you, until you feel as lost as them.
Our tour routine is simple. We get to the place where the concert will be held, we leave our stuff in the dressing room and we start with the sound check, which usually leaves us with some time to rehearse for a while and warm up. We eat something and then get dressed having agreed about the outfit, of course.
The LP Demo has been produced in NY and recorded with Andrés Levin and his friends (Medeski, Angry, Hargrove, Ribot, Vieira and Barber) as you may see in our teasers. This is the result of a year and a half of hard work that we synthesized in the 5 weeks we spent there. Thanks to this we have signed with Warner. Gorka has taken care of photography and Davidelfin has created all the design together with Grandegraphix. We have also recorded two video clips and the third one is on its way! EMI is our editorial and we have Ford as our sponsor. And of course our managers which are not from Huelva!! (RLM). We have had holidays and we have had meetings and have eaten as much as we have been able to, without depriving ourselves. We are thankful to all of you for your support -for being there everyday- and also for multiplying and joining up to this project which has just started. Actually, we just want to stay the way we are: normal people who have come together unavoidably and for necessity, to express ourselves through music.
