A whole can of whip ass with a dollop of Travis pickin'--just to keep you on your toes! But if we must--Tammy Wynette, The Ramones, X, Motorhead, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Mel Tillis, Hatebreed, Black Sabbath, Merl Travis, The Everly Brothers, The Judds, Emmylou Harris, Joan Jett, Red Kross, Red Krayola, Hickey, The Pandoras, The Blasters and Patsy Cline.
There’s a rumbling in Hollywood, and it’s not the subterranean churnings of an earthquake in the works. It’s The Cheatin’ Kind. And they want to rattle your trashy soul with gritty lyrics, meaty pickin’, and a lusty wail. If one of them should “borrow” your spouse along the way, well…take it as a compliment.
Imagine an alternate universe where Daisy Duke is smart and sassy and Patsy Cline is a punk rock feminist with a bottle of Makers Mark in her fist. You get the picture of singer Babs MacDonald. Throw in the hot BBQ licks of fire-fingered Tele wonder, Kentucky Colonel Paul Morris and you got a mean recipe....but wait, there's more. Rounding out the south of the Mason Dixon line triumvirate (does not rhyme with gyrate) on drums is Trent Hamilton, a Southern gentleman and connoisseur of mud bogs and tractor pulls. Lastly, but certainly not leastly, on bass guitar, our rug cuttin’ queen, Miss Melanie Mahina Ochie Makaiwi...that’s a mouthful and so is she.
Cooler than a frost brewed Coors Light on a hot summer day, themes range from liquored up thrills to broken hearts and the psych meds that cure them all. The Cheatin’ Kind is uniquely post-modern Americana, Roots Rock and 80’s cowpunk bouncing on the knee of the golden age of honky tonk.
The rumblin’ is spreading as The Cheatin’ Kind hits the road to inject some much-needed “rock” into the increasingly navel-gazing field of “roots rock.” Of course, if that rumblin’ you hear is an earthquake after all…grab a beer, turn your wedding ring around and find someone to make out with!

Thanks for adding us...all our cyber-stalking of Babs MacDonald has finally paid off!
Anybody should know you don't mean "television" when you refer to a "fire-fingered Tele wonder"...with a name like "The Cheatin' Kind", it could only mean "Televangelist"!
Lookin' forward to sharing the bill with you at Ronnie Mack's Barn Dance on 12/2!
