Formerly The Chiara L's, The Kiara Elles have existed with this name and line up since October 2008.
They will shortly release their first AA 7" single and download 4 tracks EP, titled Odio/Supergroupie.
Currently recording their full debut album with producer Choque (Black Wire, The Brute Chorus, Hood, Black Star Liner) their sounds range from dancey & quirky, to dark and punky, invoking memories of anything from Joy Division to Le Tigre.
With energetic live sets from Edinburgh to London, a critically acclaimed previous release (8/10 Drowned in Sound) and a wagon of tunes so infectious you'll need a jab to protect you, have amassed a devout following across the country. Solo alias of Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist Sam Jones, previously found playing with Flying Saucer Attack, Minotaur Shock, Crescent and Third Eye Foundation. A brilliant mix of electronic and acoustic textures, plaintive vocals and eccentric British humour, The Balky Mule has garnered comparisons to people like Hood, Pram, Syd Barrett and FatCat labelmates Songs of Green Pheasant.
