Hailing from Providence, RI, The Cobra-Matics featured Diamond Dan White (singer and acoustic rhythm guitar), The Colonel (Electric lead guitar), Backwards Bob Mac (upright and electric Fender bass), and "Snake" Kroger (Drummer and Cymbal player) This wild and wooly bunch took their name from the Colonel's 1958 Zenith "Cobra-Matic" high fidelity record player.
The Cobra-Matics made great strides through perseverence, good taste, and great showmanship. The band adopted a style all their own and were not afraid to admit the influences of early blues, country, gospel, R&B, 50's rock-n-roll, and rockabilly. Great sounds of the past are always heard jumpin out of the speakers of the Cobra-Matic. When the band hit the stage music fans of all ages and styles appreciated the band's dedication to preserve the Roots of American Rock and Roll. This is a rare group of musicians that believed in what they were doing and what they were playing right down to the genuine good looks of their matching suits and the great sounds of their vintage gear. These guys got what it takes so the next time you've got an urge for the "real thing" keep your eyes and ears peeled for the rockin' sights and sounds of the Cobra-Matics and pick up thier Debut CD on The Colonels Fabulous new Original Recipe Recordings label available NOW at http://cdbaby.com/cd/cobramatics

There used to be these events called all ages punk rock shows..... they were fun and crazy and wild and your band would beg to get on them and open for the coolest band rolling on through our awesome town from wherever. Then during the week there were these great rock shows every other night and people would go out and have fun at these dumpy clubs and we all supported each other and bands worked hard at trying to get out there in the music world and put this town on the map. that was a good ol' time.
Early tonight I was reminded of those days and went to see a band that has been around for 25 years and they got on stage and kicked the living shit out of any band that has come out of this town in the last 10 years and made all of our little distractions that are now so popular around here look ridiculously lame.
How many of you people did i see out there! Hardly any! looks like Providence needs a refresher class in Rock and roll 101!
what the fuck are YOU gonna do about it?
I'm getting a band up and running tomorrow just like I did after the first time I saw these guys!
The fans are demanding it. Even die hard surf rats would lay down their Lamiglas rods for a Cobramatics reunion. Let's start the chant..... RE-UN-ION!!!!
ok Enough is Enough! Not only is the Cd awsome, it is uncanny! I don't understand why their can't a reunion or something. These is the best tunes to come out of this crappy town in a long fucking time. Do i have to call the UN???
What a fantastic CD!It's been a long time coming but well worth the wait. Even my metal-head teenage son digs it! The only problem with listening to this CD is that it reminds me of how great a live Cobramatics show was. Damned, I miss seeing you guys play!
I have to say, I'm slightly disappointed with the recorded Narragansett song... I'm used to the whole live, "Hey neigbor! Drinkin is good for you..." It sounds so PG with the word 'dancin'. Sadly, I have now lost the will to live. I will now commit ritual suicide by drinking a keg worth of gansett in one sitting. Delicious...
Hi Guys,
Sending you some New Year greetings from over the pond.
Hope all is going well and you sell your first million copies of the new CD.
