In the beginning there was rick and john. many bands/incarnations not worth mentioning begat the Rosehips (rick, john, and andrew). A severe bout of depression followed by incredible motivation (don't they have a name for that?) spawned the great northern (the REAL great northern!). Jenny, rick, john, andrew, shivawn, and sometimes dierdre. and lo, it was good.
dawn dineen, the chris and joylene show, and the (real) great northern thus formed what archeologists now call a "scene". Ancillary, but no less noteworthy associates at that time included Callow, Ellen Cherry, and Chester Stacey. the chris and joylene show became the honest mistakes and private eleanor. dawn dineen became a ghostly apple seed. the great northern became airport boulevard, and your collaters.

You guys were so awesome at the Ellicott City show even though the sound system pooped on your shoes. I love The Collaters. Even if they don't know how to spell. Yeah, you guys are almost as good as The Cue. Not quite, but almost.

Nothin' what's up with you? And I Would very much like to Possess the key to your coveted tent. In fact I'll do anything I have to to achieve that. I'm doin' well. I'm sellin' these high end boutique amps and doing really well. I hope you guys are too.
John and Rick - I went over to my mom's house to pick up the boxes of holiday ornaments that we have no room for in our tiny place... and I came across a box of old Yarner stuff. I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing this flyer from 2002... This is what we were doing nearly 5 years to the day before we played at the 307 Knox Salon in Durham:
This message is for Rick... I heard Heidi Klum on TV (Project Runway) say "see you on the runway" and since her accent is Austrian I immediately added a "babies" to the end of her sentence. IN YOUR HONOR! Then I chuckled for a good minute...
MISS YOU RICKSTER!!! It's still reassuring to know the babies of the world are in good hands.
