First off, I now have my own weekly internet radio show. Yeah, I know. EVERYBODY has an internet radio show. Well...now I do too. Listen every Thursday at www.live365.com/stations/bionictv at 3pm NYC time. My show F-BOMBS FOR EVERYONE is sort of like 24-7 (my weekly column in Steppin' Out magazine) opinionated and obnoxious. My buddy Mike Cristi (who is also the drummer for NON-FICTION and THE CURSED) joins me each week as I play music...and goof on people. Occasionally I even goof on Mike...well actually EVERY show I goof on Mike. I'd stop, but he keeps laughing. The show will also soon be available via ITUNES as well. Thanks to Mark Strigl from TALKING METAL for letting a couple of imbeciles have their own show. I also want to tell you that my old band NON-FICTION are doing a reunion show on Saturday November 7th. This will be the first time we've performed together in ten years. Non-Fiction features myself, Mike, Kevin Bolembach and Alan Tecchio. A ton of people say they're coming, so maybe it's best to buy advance tickets now at www.Dingbatznj.com This show should be really fun. We recently posted some old footage from when NON-FICTION played CBGB's BEFORE we got our record deal. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTNKrNAr9s0

NJ's Non-Fiction who released 3 full lengths and an ep from 1990-1994 have scheduled a one night reunion show Saturday November 7th at Dingbatz in Clifton NJ. Vocalist Alan Tecchio, guitarist Dan Lorenzo, drummer Mike Cristi and bassist Kevin Bolembach will perform songs from their 3 cds Preface, In The Know, and It's A Wonderful Lie. Non-Fiction formed after Hades broke up in 1989. Lorenzo originally hooked up with vocalist/guitarist Dan Nastasi from Mucky Pup before Tecchio moved back to Jersey from Texas and his stint with Watchtower. Around that time, Nastasi formed Dog Eat Dog. Non-Fiction added Bolembach (drummer Cristi was already in place)and performed shows locally including CBGB's. This footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTNKrNAr9s0 from CBGB's was from the show that Non-Fiction got signed by Grand Slamm/IRS. NON-FICTION released 2 cds rather quickly, shot to #1 on WSOU for months at a time and started touring. In 1993 Non-Fiction opened an American tour with Overkill, then flew to Europe as openers for both Overkill and Savatage. Their video for the song "Reason To Live" was featured on MTV's Headbangers Ball and can be seen here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbsEm4ooa3k The band can be reached at http://www.myspace.com/nonfictionnj
NON-FICTION/HADES Guitarist Dan Lorenzo recently spoke with Jersey Beat founder Jim Testa. Below is part of the interview:
Q: What inspired the Non-Fiction reunion, and how much practice will it take for you guys to get back up to speed?
Dan: The drummer Mike and I always flirted with the idea. We had a band with (Overkill vocalist) Bobby Blitz called THE CURSED (http://www.the-cursed.net) that sounded pretty much like NON-FICTION. I think whenever we wanted to we'd put out feelers to our old bassist Kevin. The timing was never right though. I play basketball outside whenever it's nice out. Basketball is murder on my fingers because they're always getting jammed. I was playing guitar the other night and it hurt. We'll only practice a few times. NON-FICTION was always fun to play live with because we'd only rehearse new songs so that always kept it fresh live.
Q: What’s your take on the current state of the music business? Aspiring to a major label deal today seems almost pointless. And yet obviously not every local band is in the position of a Radiohead or Nine Inch Nails tojust give away their music online – you still have to pay for guitar strings and put gas in the van. Can a metal band hope to sell enough CD’s in today’s digital world to be self-sustaining?
Dan: One in a million can. Good odds, huh, Jim? Honestly you just have to play music for fun. When we get back together on Saturday November 7th at Dingbatz in Clifton, it's going to be fun. I always stopped my bands when it stopped being fun. There are other ways to make money.
