Formed in 2005, the Denton, Texas based quartet, The Daily Beat, emerged as an up and coming act in the Texas Punk/DIY/Indie scene. With diverse influences ranging from Chelsea, The Jam, Devo, The Boys, Cocksparrer, Government Issue, The Dickies, The Cars, and David Bowie. The Daily Beat has created their own unique brand of classic punk/new wave rock&roll with sing along chorus lines and a provocative political edge. Founding members Ben Dawson (guitars/vocals) and Tim Price (bass/vocals) collaborated together building on experience from former projects Whips and Furs, Invitation to Failure, La Fin Du Monde, A Capital Affair, and Fantastic Eddie. After several line-up changes on drums and keyboards, they are now accompanied by Gabe Aguilar of The Von Ehrics on drums and Felicia Florez on analog synthesizer. In support of their first release, the "Meet the Press" EP, The Daily Beat has gigged regularly in the metroplex and around Texas. Their highly anticipated full length album, "Muckrackers", is set for release late 2008 with several tours and regional dates scheduled for support of the record in 2009.
I heard from a grapevine that you guys were recording a few songs with Bryan a little while back? Is this demo from that session? Be cool to hear what magic happens.
