The Dance Party is a high-energy rock group from Washington, DC. With a sound that combines Dance-Punk, 80's New Wave, and Powerpop, The Dance Party created a buzz throughout DC and the Mid-Atlantic with their frenetic live performance and hook-laden debut album, "Friction! Friction! Friction!"
The Dance Party recently recorded 10 tracks with Andros Rodriguez at the helm (Justin Timberlake, Cobra Starship, !!!). With a host of shows booked and new songs yet to be released, the band is positioned for rock and roll domination.
The new material demonstrates the band's strengths - undeniably catchy pop songs executed with an over-the-top delivery, guaranteed to cause the uncontrollable desire to throw caution to the wind and get radical on the dance floor.

IF YOU'VE NEVER heard the Prince George's County power pop quintet the Dance Party, you should know they didn't pick their name to be ironic. They really do want people to dance and party, as evidenced by their wild shows and goofy song titles like "Sex Disco" and "New Wave Drugz." In other cities, such a hedonistic musical approach might seem passe, but in the earnest D.C. scene, their rowdiness has made them stand out.

In a city of rigid powersuits and scandal-ridden monuments, notorious for frigidly crossed arms in rock clubs (ha ha cliché), we all need a little dance. The Dance Party brings it, always.I couldn't help but notice that in the past few months I've been penned up in New York, the Dance Party's fanbase has multiplied exponentially.

Don't take the name lightly because the guys come with one motive: to make you dance. Singer Mick Coogan delivers high-energy vocals and catchy lyrics on top of synth-pop beats that have you wishing you'd busted out leg warmers before hitting the dance floor.

It looked like at any moment the frenetic dancing of lead singer Mick Coogan would take him right over the stage and into the audience, which is where he eventually ended up anyway.
