The Diableros released a new five-song EP this October; titled "Old Story, Fresh Road", on Outside Music. Produced by Juno award-winning recording engineer Laurence Currie and financially supported by the Ontario Arts Council, it marks the band's first step into the realm of professional-quality recording.
"Old Story, Fresh Road" is now available for download from iTunes, eMusic and Zunior. 12" vinyl EPs are available to order at thediableros.com
In this issue of Now Magazine, 'Then came what the band describes as a “group-saving lineup change,” when members of the Postage Stamps stepped in. Now the reinvigorated quintet has a new five-song EP, Old Story, Fresh Road (Outside) produced by Laurence Currie (Sloan, Wintersleep), which aptly captures the band’s rough-and-tumble live energy'
I always fucking your shows, and I see you're playing the Green Bottle Oct 2nd and we're playing the Silver Dollar that same day :( Maybe we should play a show together some day, so I can finally see you play again (haven't since the Velvis). I'll ask Jackie (Game) to mention it. You're drummer drops off exclaim! to our store (I think) and she always talks to him. Or maybe this is an elaborate plot to steal your farfisa organ. Also, my mom loved your fist album. She's a pretty hip mom. Cheers.
That was a great set at Sneaky Dee's. A well-executed blend of spellbinding guitar-overdrive, hook-filled melodies and a cannon of thunderous energy, this is a rock alchemy that’s raw yet smooth. As if by telepathy, the new line-up solidifies a staple of the TO music community, with perhaps international success already assured.
That was a great set at The Horseshoe. An inspired spark of rock goodness blasting with energy, anthems steeped in fuzzy-riffs and hook-laden soundscapes punctuated by organ drones. Captivating and finely-crafted songs, consistently delivering a soaring live performance. Fire up the generator.
