The Dirty Love Band is a popular Canadian rock band based out of
Southern Ontario. The five members Dennis Habel, Kent Merkley, Bruce
Locke, Sean Thomson and Ted Feica are the current evolution of the band
which started 4 years ago with Dennis and Kent.
The band has a classic sound, with blues, rock and rhythm & blues
influences. The sound is loud, the sound is soulful. An intense show
every time.
Originally a two piece consisting of Dennis Habel and Kent Merkley, the
duo performed original and cover material at local bars and pubs. Later
with the addition of Adam DeRuiter on drums and Sean Thomson on bass
in 2006, they began to work on previously written material. Due to
circumstance, Adam and Sean left the band and were replaced by
Seamus Evely on drums. The trio perfected their sound and performed
throughout Southern Ontario. Bruce Locke joined the band in 2007 and
added solid bass playing to their sound, it was at this time that they
recorded their self titled album. In 2008 Sean returned to the group with
a saxophone and his long time experience with harmonica. At this time
they were awarded the 2008 and 2009 "Most Popular Blues/R&B Group" by
London's Scene Magazine in the 6th and 7th Annual London Music Awards.
Seamus left the band August 2008 to be replaced for an Eastern Canada
tour by Ted Fieca, a well known local drummer and established drum tech.
There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.

1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
