Tough, no-lip New York rockers with a local supergroup lineage that pay adoring homage to several decades' woth of hometown heroes. Not since 80's lipstick punks Sweet Pain has a band so seamlessly appropriated the pop hooks and street fightin' vigor of Starz, to say nothing of the proto-punk belch of The Dictators and the gypsy drawl of The New York Dolls. Effortlessly groovy tracks like 'Rockstarlivin' and 'Hollywood La La La' flow like hobo piss in a Bowery back alley, and hand-clapping rockstarve anthem 'Don't Blame My Rock N' Roll is a perfect slice of winking bubblegum sleaze. - Sleazegrinder, Classic Rock Magazine
The Dirty Pearls deliver sticky-sweet rock n’ roll reverberation with a throbbing rhythm section, held down by the infamous Marty E. and the incomparable Dougie Wright. Dueling guitarists, Johnny B. and Richie White trade bluesy licks and cocksure riffs. Meanwhile, the band is fronted by Tommy London, who wails, prances, and kicks like a possessed peacock. The Dirty Pearls have the bluesy swagger and the anthemic songs to take over New York City, the nation, your stereo and your loins. Witnessing the Dirty Pearls live is like unprotected booze-fueled sex in the back of a Trans Am with police chiefs underage daughter. It's tight, it's sweaty, it's dangerous, and it's chock full of sleaze! - Blogsnroses.com
The Dirty Pearls are a fabulous retro rock band that would have easily fit alongside with the likes of Bon Scott era AC/DC, The Sex Pistols, Sweet, Thin Lizzy and classic Kiss. Their self titled EP will raise some eye brows with their infectious grooves, sweet sing-along choruses and power riffs a la Angus Young. Tommy London is ready to challenge his contemporaries like Josh Todd (Buckcherry) and Scott Weiland (Velvet Revolver) for king of the rock n' roll dirty pile. The best moments of their EP are 'Rockstarlivin' and 'Cannonball'. This is pure fun, catchy as hell and will linger in your mind for hours after the first listen. The Dirty Pearls are essential listening for the fans of Buckcherry, American Pearl, The Sex Pistols and The New York Dolls. - Ruben Mosqueda, Pivotal Rage
I'm thinking that The Dirty Pearls are the red, white, and blue version of Crystal Pistol in the sense that big ideas make real fucking sense when shot out of a canon, and when you festoon your bravado all over the goddamn place like it was meant to be, the good citizens of Rock Nation are most likely to stand up and take notice, ya dig? And I'm not talking 'bout slapping posters on lamp poles, my friends. No, I'm talking cock of the walk type stuff, I'm talking about slapping people with bona fide 70's swagger, and these sleazy, hip shakin' New Yorkers (ex Sex Slaves and Drag Citizen) have stars in their eyes, sunshine in their hearts, and brass in their balls. Handclaps, la-la-la's, and juicy hooks make drinks go down smooth and the women look really fucking good. Everyone's a sucker for good time rock n' roll, right? - Jeff Warren, Capsule Review
Called Retro Rock by people who don’t know any better. The Dirty Pearls are very Ramones with shades of J. Geils and maybe a dash of Thin Lizzy. Lead singer, Tommy London sings with incredible strength holding the mic with one hand for leverage while stomping his foot on the stage like it’s going through to China. He’s incredibly magnetic. You can’t take your eyes off him.
The music is fast, hard and sharp. Breaks are clean with hooks all over and the lyrics are snappy, snotty and smart. The Dirty Pearls have a strong fix on bluesy rock with a lot of attention to details, musicianship and song structure. You know, like they have a beginning, middle and end. And you can actually tell the difference between different songs. There is a good reason this is the hottest band in New York. The Dirty Pearls are just plain wonderful. -Victoria Joyce, Subarbuzz Magazine
