Like Big Band in the 1920s and classical music before that, instrumental music has always been around, if not in the forefront. Now, bands like Explosions in the Sky, Pelican, and Sigur Ros are proving instrumental bands can be very successful once again. The Disconnect is an instrumental rock band from the Lehigh Valley in PA. They've been compared to bands such as Explosions in the Sky, Appleseed Cast and U2. The Disconnect, with over 30 shows under their belt in their first year of existence, has developed an intense and emotionally charged live performance which has helped them impress unsuspecting crowds and gain a following quickly, evidenced by over 10,000 fans and 48,000 plays on myspace.com since July 2005.

Truly amazing show on saturday guys. Glad I finally got to see the magic for myself. Let me know ASAP when you guys would be down to Amalgamate once more and play another show with us! Our fans (the 25-30 people sitting on the floor while we played heh) all fell in love.
I actually got back just about a week ago, I've been in some major tooth pain and haven't been online, but it's on the up and up now. I wish I had known a day ago about the show happening tonight! There's no way I'd make it in time by now. The next time you play a show - which hopefully will not be as rare as you suggest - I will make every effort to attend, first of which will be by being in the same continent! Hope all's been well, and fyi, your songs have made for great traveling companions while I was away!
