Straight from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky come The Doolittles, a firecracker of a duo joining the music of the past with the modern influences of a new generation. These boys grew up just a county or two apart. Both were raised with a passion for their home, its music and its people. It's in their blood and flows throughout their music. You can hear it in the pining of "Foreign Lander," in the fatalism of "Should I Die Tonight (For Jude)," and in the frustration of "A Ton On My Shoulder." These songs, along with "Fall On My Knees," are taken from their self-produced first album, titled Pine to Pine, a field recording of sorts that will benefit the Hindman Settlement School and lays the groundwork for a studio album to be released in 2007.

Thank you for all you do. I know it is not always easy. Sometimes I just have to listen to Ton on My Shoulder to keep me sound. And of course to keep me going sometimes I need which side are you on.

I just wanted to thank you guys so much for coming to Union tonight! Did you make it back home safely? About fifteen minutes after you left the tornado siren went off and all I could think was "oh god, 'Public Outcry' is on the road RIGHT NOW!" I hope everyone is safe and sound and that you missed the tornado that touched down right after you left :)
Thanks again!!!

Silas House. I love your books. I read Clay's Quilt and it's my favorite book ever now. I'm reading The Coal Tattoo now and I love it too. I love that they take place in Kentucky, it makes it all so easy to relate to.
I just got the CD in the mail a few days ago and have been listening to it since. I love it! DB, you did an amazing job. I'm so proud of you for fulfilling your dream. And, these pics of you guys in the fall colors are making me jealous of the autumn weather back there!
Wow, Silas, it must be wonderful to be multi-talented. There are moments when you sound a lot like Dwight Yoakam. I remember seeing Jason at Hindman...was too shy to speak to him. I added one of your songs to my profile...gotta get the word out. Keep it "Hillbilly Solid," Silas...lol.
