The Doylestown Jam Started in October 2003 as an Open Acoustic Bluegrass Jam.
Pickers of all playing levels are encouraged to join in every Wednesday Evening at the German Hungarian Sportsman's Club in Hilltown, Bucks County, PA, starting usually around 7:30 PM for a fun, and entertaining evening.
Karl Fehrenbach, banjoist extraordinairre sums it up like this "We are all very fortunate to have the Doylestown Jam to be the soundboard for our picking and learning endeavors. What a safe environment to try new things out. No one ridicules you for botching the melody or missing the tag ending. You can really let loose and play things you never played before with all of the train wrecks and derailments that inevitably follow. We all just shrug it off and try again the next time. For all of the newcomers, I hope you take to heart that this group is very supportive and we all were beginners at one time. We all had trouble finding the chords, We all had the forward roll sound like it was in a state of seizure, We all have capoed up at the wrong fret. We have all gone stone dead blank when it was our turn to kick off a song. We just kept playing and playing until some of the more obvious clams have been exorcised. “Will The Circle Be Unbroken?” You bet.
Thanks Karl.....
