Influences
The Verve, The Stone Roses, BRMC...........ye ken the script!
The Draymin started out in Rosyth, Fife, Scotland. We bought an old garage that was put up for sale, we dismantled it, then rebuilt and soundproofed it, and now that's where the time is spent coming up with the tunes, THE HUT was born!!
We take inspiration from bands such as The Verve, The Stone Roses, BRMC and South to name but a few.
Our career milestones to date would be playing the TBreak Stage at T in the Park in 2007, as well as making it across the pond to play at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas in March ’07.
A few months previous to this we were invited to EMI Publishing Studios in London to record a 3 track demo, we gained some valuable experience from this.
So far this year we have been Jim Gellatly’s XFM Xposure Showcase band and were recently invited back to do an acoustic session with him, you can listen to this on our page right now. We were also invited along to BBC Radio Scotland to record a live session with Vic Galloway, which you can listen to at this site. We have recently played the Rockness festival in Inverness and will be making an appearance at a few more throughout the summer, check out the gig listings.
We will be releasing a limited edition E.P. in August this year, which we have just finished recording, the E.P. launch night will be at Velocity in Dunfermline on 8th August and will be followed by gigs all over Scotland and also a tour of the North of England around October time, see gig listings for details. The E.P will be available through iTunes and various other digital download sites from 8th August.
Bands we have supported are: The Skids @ The Glen Pavilion - Dunfermline, Inspiral Carpets @ ABC Glasgow, Louis XIV @ The Luminaire - London, The Enemy @ King Tut’s - Glasgow, The Bluetones @ Velocity - Dunfermline, The Courteeners @ Moshulu – Aberdeen, The Paddingtons @ The Beat Club - Glasgow and The Doghouse - Dundee, The Complete Stone Roses @ Fat Sams - Dundee, plus we have a few on the way, check out the gig listings.
We’ve recently been tipped by the ’News of the World’ Sunday newspaper as one of the bands to watch out for this year, as well as countless others throughout the music industry, don’t believe all you hear though, come and see for yourselves!!!!
