The Effects may or may not be the best Rock ’N’ Roll band on earth. If you haven’t seen them, how do you know? Witnessing their pure rock live show is like eating an ear-steak. It’s like throwing a brick through a plate-glass window, like riding a giant cobra through the desert. It’s like having your cake and eating it too. It’s like getting your homework done on Friday night so your Saturday is free to party, like getting your whistle wet. It’s like giving birth, like if Santa Clause was real and young and in a band from Oklahoma. It’s like seeing someone naked. It’s like dogs and cats living together in harmony, like getting struck by lightning, like getting away with something you’re not too ashamed of. It’s like catching a 10 pound Bass, and its almost like if Beethoven could hear. Words can’t say enough about the four warriors, who sold their souls to the road in exchange for a Rock’n’Roll revolution… and the cream will rise.
"The Effects are an overwhelmingly hirsute eight-legged groove machine of the highest order. Don’t believe us? Listen to their stuff on their MySpace page; we defy you not to get your box rocked and your soul saved in the process." - MTV's Buzzworthy - November 2, 2007
"This quartet may look like sleepy tight-pantsed extras from Dazed and Confused, but, like Kings of Leon, don't let the treads fool you- they rock hard. In 2006, the Effects played about 200 dates and didn't slack off in 2007, either: They crammed in an EP produced by Jeff Saltzman (the Killers) and as-yet-unreleased album And It Is..." SPIN Magazine 4/08
“Those guys are saving rock ’n’ roll in this town. It’s the best rock band I’ve seen in years.” - Jeff Martinson, Owner of The Blank Slate in Tulsa, OK - Tulsa World - 10/5/07
"Think 1970s ass-shaking sweat rock. The Effects' songs invoke a T-Rex-White Stripes-Neil Young-ish vibe, with a splash of the Black Crowes at their heaviest." Arkansas Times
"straight up, no frills rock and roll" - The Bulletin - Emporia State University - 10/31/07
The Effects have a sound that travels well across airwaves

And It Is... is a journey The Effects will take you on. Mostly live, and more than a group of songs, the album explores love, lust, life, death, destruction, creation, inspiration and sacrifice. Bred in Oklahoma, baptized by the road, The Effects are the sons of rock 'n' roll.
The Effects have made a reputation with constant touring, but took eight days off in Lexington, KY to record "And It Is...". These songs were written across the country, by a band who has found the recipe for something great. "Turn On the World" is the first single. It has a vintage Stone's vibe, with a fist-pounding chorus. The ten song album goes from raw catchy rockers like "Turn On the World" and "They Say You're Crazy (if you have a good time)", to epic, guitar-heavy anthems like "Zeus", "The Ride", and "Desert Rain". The harder side of the album consists of early Zeppelin and Sabbath sounding riffs, laced with Beatle-like melody and harmony. The band also veers into a vein of psychedelia with "Quincy 8", "Battleship" and the title track "And It Is...". Backwards guitar riffs, vintage organs, linking songs together, and the harmonies put a unique flavor on the album. The only stripped down acoustic track is "Destruction's Eve". The song consists of mandolin, lap steel, acoustic guitars, and four part harmonies. All singing about a soldier's night before battle. Producer Duane Lundy was a great medium for bringing the songs to life, possessing vintage gear and rock 'n' roll knowledge.
And It Is... is just the beginning of an adventure the band has embarked on. The band has plans of heavy touring in support of the album, and will continue to explore all the directions they've been heading with their songs. There is only more to come from The Effects.

Bad ass video, dudes! I like the cliff hanger before part 2, and I'm not gonna lie.... Things are goin too good here, and I'm still too poor, but somehow still jelous that it was Bobby there. The lucky SOB! If I meet him I'll have to shake his hand and pick his brain. Such is life, I'll just catch the next show that I can. Keep rockin' it.
