I really really love that you cared about me, and the other estimated three-dozen people who read your Fiji story enough to sacrifice "all of your morals and beliefs" for one night, for us!
So yeah...hope it makes you happy to know people read it, and... sorry if it brings back bad memories you'd rather forget.
Have fun on your hiatus or w/e it is..not gonna nag you to come back 'cause I'm sure you're doing it for good reason..I still love you guys the same!
Philadelphia loves you guys (as Im sure you know by the sold out shows at the TLA)...hope you continue musical pursuits so I can enjoy your talents again someday.
the Format is, and will always be, one of my all time, timeless, favorites
You really need to put "Swans" from the movie Moving McAllister on this profile or I-tunes!!! It's a great song and no one can find it anywhere!! please?
i <3 u guys, ur songs are really great. that sounds really generic, but its true. ur songs have helped me through alot :] and there just plain out fun to listen to!
Everyone else has already said it so ill leave out the cheese on how good you guys are, but you need to be back in the buisness. you need to do live shows to grow, the buisness looks for who can make the big bucks and be popular among teens, and with your attitudes and music, you damn well could do it.
okay, so i was watching moving mcallister today. and i heard the song swans. and from the begining, i thought this is the format. but then i was like, there's no way, i've never heard this song but it sounds SO MUCH like them. and so i waited through the credits to find out it was you guys. and now, i've been basically comitting suicide trying to find the song anywhere, but all i can find is the video. :[ i wish you guys would get back together, you're like my all time favorite band and your music seriously amazes me.
“Make another album.” -Brother, Nik “Thank you!” -Friend, Tyler “You guys are awesome and shouldn’t stop making records.“ -Friend, Dylan “My friend is all depressed cause you broke up and you were my favorite band. Get back together.” -Friend, Matt “Good luck in the future. Hope you find what you’re looking for.” -Myself Well what left to say, I guess I could ask what everyone is asking… What made you change your minds about making another album (Not saying that you had a mind set on another album)? Well this sure ends a musical era and I hope you two change your minds again (I know it’s slim). I’m listening to Give It Up right now and I have realized that the line, “So give it up, throw your hats in the air and change just as they land you’re saying "We'll get out of here" but something tells me that you’re too scared to go.” Fits me perfectly I’m afraid too see you guys change. But I can’t wait to hear some of your solo projects and I’m glad to say that Tyler is going to make tribute song for the band and I hope to help. To sum up the way your fans feel can only be said by you in the song On Your Porch. “what’s left to lose, you've done enough and if you fail well then you fail, but not to us cause these last three years, I know they've been hard but now it's time to get out of the desert and into the sun even if it's alone.” You can’t fail to use. Mr. Ruess, Mr. Means all your fans are here for you through everything. -Porter
-Dear, Nate and Sam Well I guess it my responsibility to try and you two probably won't even see this but I just have to do it. I was told that The Format broke up by my friend Matt and I blew it off saying, “Music is what they do, their not done” and thinking it was a joke or something. But then my friend Tyler, who may be your biggest fan and who played your album Dog Problems for me for the first time (The first song I heard by you guys was Oceans and I almost started to cry right there in front of him knowing that you would be one of my favorite band for a long time) told me that you broke up and later I read Nate's message to the fans I got a hole in my heart and it hurt like hell. I was so happy listening to you guys with my brothers and Tyler just thinking that I would be more than happy just to meet you fine men. I got live at the Mayan Theater for my bros for Christmas (mainly for myself). When I pressed play I was thrilled to watch you kill on stage as I sang every word. But now I'm so upset every time I hear one of your songs knowing that The Format has closed there doors for business. You might not have sworn together for ever but five years is just too short for us all. I may have not been listening for the full five years but I’m taking this news just as hard as those how have if not more. I know that this message won’t be passed around like the Twin Peaks box set and I know I can’t sway you to re-open those doors but I had to try something to get you guys back together (I was even thinking about starting a march from Oregon to Vanity Label studio and protesting and I might still do it). Your music has changed my life, the lives of people close to me, and uncountable amounts of others.
I just want to say thanks for all of the beautiful music you guys have produced, and its disappointing that you wont be making anymore. But your lyrics and soft beats have obviously made an impact on so many peoples lives, including mine. So I just want to thank you for all of your hard work. You'll always have fans and we will definitely miss you. Thank you!
