The Ghost Next Door is a compelling alt/metal trio hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area. With scathing, forthright lyrics over a heavy yet melodic soundscape, TGND is dedicated to the unrelenting pursuit of quality in a genre plagued by repetition and lackluster songwriting. Since its inception in early 2004, The Ghost Next Door has displayed an uncompromising work ethic, exposing audiences to an expressive take on modern day alternative rock & roll, showing the world that despite the bleak outlook illustrated in the songs, there is still promise.
PRESS REVIEWS
"Cool name and cool band. Features ex-SkinLab, Release, Sacrilege BC guitarist, but I can't say that this sounds like any of those previous bands. This trio plays a melodic style of alternative metal that is refreshing. The lyric content is on the dark side. The instrumentation is tight and intricate. All in all a good five song primer for what I think (indicates) bigger things to come." (JC)

"It seems that whenever a member of a late 80s/early 90s thrash band re-enters the music scene, its not with a metal band. Ex-Sacrilege BC guitarist Gary Wendt is the latest example, taking a more straight-forward, albeit heavy-edged, approach with his new project The Ghost Next Door, and this self-produced, self-released EP gives us a good look at this promising group. They sound kind of like a stripped down version of Tool, with melodic noodling leading into crunch riffs and so on. The basic style doesnt change much through the five tracks, but there are enough change ups to keep things interesting throughout, not content to write a simple three minute pop song and call it a day.
This music might be more accessible than Wendts previous projects (including a stint with Skinlab), but its far from mindless. Theyve already established a strong fan base, and I expect it will only grow as they begin to play out more and this EP starts to make the rounds through various circles of friends. Check them out for yourself if youre interested in something a little different yet easily digestable."
