Influences

General influences include friends, family, a sober mind, an inebriated mind, touring and tour friends (Jon Creeden, New York Taxi).

Music that is currently inspiring me: Propagandhi (pretty much everything in their catalog), Endless Mike and the Beagle Club (Husky Tenor is in heavy rotation right now, We Are Still At War is getting a much deserved breather), Weezer (Pinkerton era), and Project Citizen ( Get Angry, Fight Uni)

Words that constantly inspire me: George Orwell, Aldous Huxley, William Blum, Noam Chomsky

Sounds Likemusic you may (or may not) want to sing-a-long with in your basement.

   About the Ghostwrite

This project has already exceeded my grandest of expectations, and I can now say this with the utmost positivity, I am enthralled with my station in life. I mean, we can't help with much of anything if our own station is broken. So what if the ideas floating around in my head seem a little too foreign or wild for belief? Isn't the concept of asking one to accept the here and now as the end-all-be-all defying logic and reason?

My second LP "Self-Destructs" is now available for free download!

This album was recorded at Magpie Cage in Baltimore, MD. Brooks Harlan took care of recording, mixing and mastering this one. Erin Gouldin, once again, created the album artwork. Click below if you're interested in listening/downloading.

My first LP/EP "Anxiety//Fabled" is also available for free download at this site too, along with a few covers and a single or two.

My Twitter page.

You can also find me on Facebook. Search for Robby Lester. That should do the trick, I think. I don't know for sure though. Facebook is an odd one.

It'd would make my night to see you at a show singing along sometime soon. Honest. Double fist pump if you add some sort of stellar metronome-like rhythm section, or if you add background woos! or hell yeahs!

Dear Sir,

I must apologize, but I will not be able to play that show on the sixth.  Conflicting plans emerged, with no resolution to accommodate both.  My buddy Jordan will be playing a few songs, and he's probably more talented than me anyways; good luck, and wish I was there (says myself and maybe pink floyd.)

Sincerely,
Brett

ps:  I might end up at Max's house that night, so our paths may in fact pass.

Thanks for the great set last night! I was just reading some of the stuff on your site, and the thing about that company patenting seeds blew my mind. Intellectual property is already a big thing for me, since I think that we're making our economy dependent on intangibles that don't have any actual worth, and that it will lead to economic collapse and social decline. But this is just taking it to a whole new level. Patenting a method of altering living things? What if some Babylonian farmer had been able to patent selective breeding, and sue everyone else who tried it? We never would have gotten out of the fucking Bronze Age. Fucking nuts.

Really good performance and fun hangs tonight. Thanks again Robby, if you need ANYTHING at all (show hookups, etc) don't hesitate to ask me. Enjoy the rest of the tour! Hopefully our paths will cross again sooner rather than later.
