NO MORE GREASE MONKEYS - The Grease Monkeys have just split up, after just over 9 years of gigs. Many thanks to all the good folks & bands we met or played with over the years. We'll keep this site up for a while, at least until there's news of our next bands. Anyways, on w/ the bio of what was The Grease Monkeys.....
Buncha Glasgow-based rock'n'roll misfits (small M) been bangin' out their loud rocked-out take on 60's garage & 70's punk for over 8 years. First album, "Grease Blast!!!" released 2002 on Bronx Cheer Records. Second album, "In Search of the Truth ...and Good Pizza" recorded recently w/ Tim Kerr (Big Boys, Poison 13, Monkeywrench, etc etc) due for release later this year. Gigging regularly in & around Scotland - and beyond ...did a 3 week euro-tour in 2002; and a week around Ireland in 2004. Done 2 BBC Radio Scotland live sessions for Vic Galloway's "Air" show. Have played shows with the Dexateens, the BellRays, the DT's, thee Exciters, the Immortal Lee County Killers, Green Hornet, Uncle John & Whitelock, th' Legendary Shack*Shakers, Spookey, Black Diamond Heavies, the Real Losers, Atomgevitter, the Dangerfields, Lummox, the Nukes, Kain, Dead Fly Buchowski, the Sires, the Thanes, the Down Roads, Denghis, the Poison Sisters, Josiah, Jawbone, the Apes, Macrocosmica, Bangtwister, the Coyote Men, Copter, the Fleshtones, the Big Bang, Da Capo, the Wildebeests, Moniack, the Gin Goblins, Baby Jane, the Bucky Rage, Animal Maths, the Multiplies, the Neverland Sleepovers, the Ulcers, Greathead Briggs ...and a few others!
