The Harmony Theory formed as a quartet in the winter of 1999 with the common goal of creating music that combines elaborate composition with free-form improvisation. The group draws upon influences from a variety of musical genres, from straight-ahead jazz to classical, rock & roll, and even bluegrass. The band fuses these diverse elements into a sound that is much more than the sum of its parts. Recorded in real time with very little overdubbing, THT's debut self-titled album is a showcase of the band's ability to embrace complex rhythms and melodies and make them accessible to the untrained ear. But most of The Harmony Theory's cadre of loyal fans would tell you that THT is a band which is best experienced live.
Hi The Harmony Theory, just a quick hello from the Jazz Pistols - hope you are doing fine and have a nice christmas season. Thanks for being our friend and good luck for the things you do. Best regards - Christoph
