Hailing from the Rocky Mountain town of Pueblo Colorado, The Haunted Windchimes are a musical concept born from the first conversation between vocalist Desirae Garcia, and singer/songwriter Inaiah Lujan. Through the static of the Colorado Phone lines, The Haunted Windchimes took form through the ghost towns of the mind, where the music is of the haunting kind.
From this ghost hunt, an Album was born and given the appropriate name “Ballad of the Winds.” These songs of wind, allow you to drift through tales of death, rebirth, love and revolution. Released in the spring of 2007 by Minneapolis Based Indie Label “Peddling Records”, The Haunted Windchimes thought it was about time to put on their traveling shoes and share their music with the rest of the world.
May 10th 2007 marked the beginning of The Haunted Windchimes 90 Day Summer Tour. “We hit the road with just a couple of guitars, suitcases and our dreams to share the haunting.” With the wind at their backs they headed east, towards the rising sun and wandered through the ghost towns of Omaha and Lincoln Nebraska, Brookings South Dakota, Minneapolis Minnesota, Madison Wisconsin, Bloomington Indiana, Nashville Tennessee, Atlanta and Athens Georgia, and Ft. Worth Texas. All the while sharing stories and songs on stage; in bookstores and backyards, bon fires and open mics, living room floors, basements and front porches. Playing atop parks and national monuments, on couches and rocking chairs, on hills and lakes, mountains and staircases.

"THE TRADE-WINDS" Haunted Windchimes feat. The Jack Trades Armstrong Hall (Oct.29.08)
"The Windchimes are, beyond a reasonable doubt, one of Colorado's most significant musical treasures."
“I've met hundreds of musicians and bands from near to far (and not just on MySpace). I even hung out with Daniel Johnston and Kimya Dawson, and got to talk on the phone with my hero, Gogol Bordello's Eugene Hutz, for 15 minutes. But honestly, I can't think of anything more incredible than befriending the Haunted Windchimes.”
“Not since the infamously troubled troubadour Gram Parsons collaboration with Emmylou Harris, or the legendary duets of Johnny Cash and June Carter, has there been a more evocative, magnetic and captivating folk duo. Seriously.”
-Adam Leech, Colorado Springs Independent
"The ghost of classic blues mingles with a pop sensibility that's given an edge by incredibly touching harmonies."
"Verse/Visa" is great listening - a CD that effortlessly takes you on an aural journey to distant and mysterious places you've never visited but always wanted to."
-Jon Pompia, Pueblo Chieftain
They have the charisma, talent and originality to hold their own against the Monolith Festival's headliners."
"In many ways, they are aiming much higher, placing music and community first, creating a compelling, original repertoire and paying homage to the artists in whose footsteps they follow."
"And then, there are those harmonies: sometimes sweet, often haunting, always beautiful"
- Bill Forman, Colorado Springs Independent
"The Haunted Windchimes paint an evocative and compelling musical picture with familiar hues of folk, blues and Americana."
To say that you guys freakin rock is a gross understatement! I spent last week on a beautiful trip to New Mexico armed with a case of Vinho Verde (wine), a guitar, drum, and your CD and it couldn't have been better!
Good god! You're playing with Magnolia Electric Company in Colorado Springs, no less. Bravo. That is one of my favorite bands. You guys are awesome. Can't wait to see that show.
Don't work with Cristal Clark or the company she runs: Twofister promotions, this chick screws bands over. Check out our new blog, talking about this stupidity. I want to give you all a shout out because you are my music scene friends. Keep it real out there. FROG...
