Hellhound From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
"A hellhound is a demonic dog of Hell, found in mythology or in fiction. Hellhounds typically have features such as an unnaturally large size, a black fur color, glowing eyes, super strength or speed, ghostly or phantom characteristics, and sometimes even the ability to talk"
The Ballachulish Hellhounds were originally formed in the highlands of Scotland around 1988 by a collection of local musicians. They played only 2 gigs and shortly after The Hellhounds went their separate ways, until a chance meeting between 2 of the original founders Dochan MacMillan and Zander MacFarlane rekindled their passion for old timey music and cheap whisky. Thus the Hellhounds reformed as an acoustic bluegrass/country blues outfit, borrowing and stealing guest players along the way. The Hellhounds have been playing selected gigs around Scotland for the past 4yrs enthralling audiences with their free flowing, honest, entertaining, good-time mayhem! The Hellhounds are on your trail!
2007 saw The Hellhounds playing Glasgow's famous Free Candy Sessions, The North Country Ramble Festival in Cannich, Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow, The Wickerman Festival, Dumfries and Galloway, The Tartan Heart Fringe Festival, The Edinburgh Festival, Creiff and Barfly, Glasgow supporting The Hackensaw Boys.
In 2008 The Hellhounds played Nice n Sleazys (electric), headline shows at Stripped Bare @ The Vale and The Free Candy Sessions in Glasgow. We also played 2 live sessions on Sunny Govan Switchback Radio and took part in the inaugural Subway Sessions on Glasgows Underground.

A short Scottish tour through from Glasgow to Inverness with Glencoe inbetween completed our summer shenanigans, happy days.
In 2009, we have played numerous gigs in and around Glasgow, a trip to Hootenay's Inverness, 2 headlining gigs The Grand Old Opry and a memorable gig in The Glasshouse @ The Southside Festival
