raw, dirty, rock 'n' roll hellbent on stealing souls
THE HOUNDS OF HELL exploded on the scene early in 2005, after members Riff Raff (bass) and Carl Kills (vox/guitar) assembled their ideal crew of rockers with ex-Bludwulf guitarist Joshua James (lead guitar/background vox) and longtime friend and musical conspirator Rolfe "Gettin' Wild With It!" Newton (drums/background vox). The band recorded and released the "Hot Breath Demo," a five song live in-studio demo of the early songs. About a year later, a collection of that "Hot Breath Demo" and four new tracks was released as a self-titled demo. A midst the release of the 8 song demo was the addition of ex-Deathpact guitarist Bryan Wilkinson (rhythm guitar/bkg vocals) in January 2006, Carl now exclusively a frontman leading the pack. A two week East Coast Tour ensued in Early April 2006, the first for the band. Following was a few months of local and weekend shows, spanning the North east, and another two weeks on the road in July on the east coast. The rest of the year finished out with more local and weekend gigs, and the first sessions of recording the forthcoming release "Bury the Rose" in October of 2006 with producer/engineer Jesse Sprinkle. With the loss of original drummer, Rolfe Newton, at the tail end of December 2006, the band haulted recording to rehearse with Don of the Dead of rochester thrash punk outfit BludWulf to plan for the busy show schedule lined up for the next two months. Recording sessions continued mid-January to finish four tracks in full for a brand new EP. The Hounds of Hell took that EP, titled the Cold Killer EP, and went on the road with the Grenade Strikes Back Tour from February 6th-19th. Amongst playing local and weekend dates for the remainder of the year with Seattle native Jesse Sprinkle on drums (Demon Hunter, Dead Poetic, Poor Old Lou) the band forged on and kept the ball rolling. In November of 2007, the band recruited drummer David Burk to join the ranks. Followed up the next year with a week in the midwest in early February. Rhythm Guitarist/Backing Vocalist Bryan Wilkinson parted ways with the band in late February 2008. Waffles of Afortiori was then trained to be the new rythym guitarist. The Hounds of Hell continues as Carl Kills, Greedy, Gabe Gendreau, Dave Burk and Waffles.
~Wouter of Rough Diamond Records - "The Hounds Of Hell (Raw, dirty, high-voltage rock n roll that brings bands like AC/DC, The Stooges and Guns n Roses to mind. This band is destined to outgrow the underground quickly, so make sure to enjoy while they are still here!"
