THE JADE

THE BEGINNING:

The Jade was founded in the summer of 2004 in the Eastern Helsinki to feed the members' number one desire - rock´n´roll music.

In the end of the year 2004, the self-produced Heatwave EP was recorded.
The following release, self-produced mini-album, Slow Motions On The Fast Lanes, was released in the Autumn of 2006. The album achieved good reception also internationally.

In January 2008 The Jade signed the record deal with the Finnish independent record company, North&South.

Two comprehensive German tours followed in April and October 2008.
The latter included a show in Switzerland also. In May 2009 The Jade played one-off show in Stockhom, Sweden.

Two singles from the album Seconds Away From Salvation, made their way to the official TOP 10 Charts in Finland.
The first official release, single Drowning, reached no. 9.
The second release, It's A Sin, entered the charts being no. 4 and stayed on the Finnish single charts for the 5 consecutive weeks.

THE ALBUM "SECONDS AWAY FORM SALVATION":

The debut album, Seconds Away From Salvation, was recorded during the Summer 2009 at Seawolf Studios in Helsinki.
The album was produced by Petri Majuri and Hannu Leiden.

Seconds Away From Salvation was releaased in November 2009 in Finland, UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, France and in Japan the album was released in January 2010.

The album was reviewed in various international printed and online rock magazines and it achieved mainly very good and excellent reviews.

THE END:

Ex-vocalist Wille Rosen left The Jade in August 2010.

After several vocalist auditions the band decided to carry on as the trio, guitarist Pekko Mantzin now on lead vocals.

The first gig with this line-up was palyed at Green Room, Helsinki in November 2010.
The Jade carried on playing music, now more punkier and faster, but still melodic rock´n´roll. On the last gigs The Jade are played only their new material along with some punk rock and rock´n´roll covers.

In the beginning of February 2011 Jann P.H, Pekko Mantzin and Sirpa decided that it was time to move on and not to carry on as The Jade anymore.

Pekko Mantzin and Sirpa are now forming the new band and more information will be delivered in the future!
The music will not stop.
Stay tuned!

It´s all about Rock´n´Roll!!

SECONDS AWAY FROM SALVATION REVIEWS AND QUOTES:

'Seconds Away From Salvation is not missing anything: Great sound, beautiful arrangements. A level of performance and compositions makes it a very great product, highly recommended to all rock lovers.'
By Stefano Gottardi - RoxxZone, It

'There seems to be so much good stuff coming out of Finland at the moment, and The Jade appear to be another quality act to add to the list. Very competent playing full of energy, well produced and 14 tracks including a great cover of The Petshop’s “It’s a sin” . This is good stuff.'
From Overloaded Radio, Wales, UK

'In fact this album is filled to the brim with classic in the making, there are plenty of excellent rock tracks here like 'Drowning', and well I could list the entire track list if I am to be honest. The Jade are surely a band to keep an eye on in 2010 as with having an album of this quality things surely have to happen for them!
I can honestly recommend this album, check it out you will not regret it!'
By Barry Gennard - Glitzine, UK

'I like Seconds Away From Salvation. Plenty of the songs here could easily end up in the charts with the right level of promotion. It's a nice snappy album - only two of the songs are over 4 minutes - and it deserves to get The Jade a big following. Few of the songs are gigantic, but most of them boast a chorus that borders on genius. You can't ask for a lot more than that. There's no reason why this band shouldn't go from strength to strength. Check out... All of it!'
By Jon Wilde - Rock Realms, UK

'Make sure not to miss this band, because they might become really huge in the near future, thanks to a bunch of excellent catchy uptempo modern classic rocksongs on their debut CD Seconds Away From Salvation.'
By Gabor Kleinbloesem - Strutter'Zine, NL

'The real heart and core of the CD comes with a string of fine uptempo emo/glam rockers and The Jade are really up to something good here. Their rock cover of Pet Shop Boys', "It's A Sin", peaked at 4 on the Finnish singles chart and their CD has now been released in nine European countires, plus Japan. Indeed, this is a little gem for the fan of above mentioned styles and rock.'
