Montreal’s The Jimmyriggers are something of a stylistic anomaly. With a nod to the hard-edged twang of Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt, the sweet rootsy pop of the Jayhawks, and even the nostalgia of early 90’s Can-con rock radio, this three-piece delivers their blend of rock and alt-country with a direct no-holds-barred attitude.
Built around the songwriting talents of bass player David Pearce and guitarist Andre Kirchhoff, the Jimmyriggers counterpoint their full electric sound and powerful rhythms with strong melodic song structures and vocal harmonies.
The Jimmyriggers have played in a large variety of local venues, including appearances at Montreal's Fringe Festival and Un-Pop Festival. They have also been showcased at Canadian Music Week and performed throughout southern Ontario in support of their debut CD Traveling Salesman, Killer on the Run...
The band continues to hone and develop its sound and, seeking increasingly to stretch their limits, have been known to surprise their audience by performing an entire set of original material un-plugged.
With a new year comes an invigorated sense of purpose for the trio as they prepare to perform more shows this year than ever before, and with a batch of new material to compliment their existing repertoire, the Jimmyriggers plan to cut a new record by year's end.
