Dude - you've definitely mastered the art of cool jazz - nice playing with you last night.
If you're free, come out to the Artist's Quarter next Wednesday July 1st - Ingo Bethke will be playing. There will be a band before us, we go on at 10ish. Hope to see you then!
Beautiful playing this week John, it was really great getting to see you again. I hope we get to meet again in the near future. Best of luck in New York, I know that you'll be very successful. Peace.
hey man its been way too long!! actually i'm movin to ny too in the fall sso it looks ill be seeing u there... im looking forward to playin again man all ur stuff ive heard sounds great!
IU is going great. I had a gig last night with this guitar trio from New York. I showed up and the leader (guitar player) handed me the book and it was all guitar parts. What made things worse is that all of the tunes were based on the music of Oliver Messian. He was kind of pissed that I couldn't transpose down a minor seventh while sightreading sixteenth notes in a 7/4 time signature. He told me that none of the guys in New York ever have problems reading his stuff. Its things like that that get me up to do routine at 6 in the morning.
Hey man, doin really well, hope you are too. We still definitely gotta hang one of these days. Looks like you're around for a while. I'm gonna try to catch you at the dakota one of these times.
Hey John! Congrats on NTC again, you sounded great and it was really fun to get to hang out with you again! Have a great Easter and good luck at jazz fest!
Sounded tight the other night (rhyme not intended). Always fun to see some good guitar. Have you heard the Philadelphia Experiment version of "Just the Two of Us"?
I'm playing at the Starbucks on Clairemont this Tuesday from 7-9pm, should you be terribly bored that night.
