“Gettin’ deep” is a phrase perhaps best suited to describe the artistic motivations behind the Kanab, Utah based "The Katch". Five seasoned musicians - tight friends, as solid in their own distinct styles as they are diverse, have fused their individual life experiences and artistic influences together into one of the most unique and inimitable musical experiences to come upon the scene in years.
Fronted by long-time singer, songwriter and keyboardist, Rich Nielsen, The Katch puts ownership to the forgotten corners and crevices of the human experience that few have tried to capture, and in the process have set a new standard for artistic expression. You’ll find that The Katch’s music goes where it needs to go.
Percussionist Joel Conner, a seasoned live performer with deep roots in classic rock, provides The Katch with drums and traditional instrument percussion. Matt Zweifel, a talented musician in his own right, provides jazz and fusion influenced 5-string fretless bass and guitar. Jim Baker brings his own brand of Southern Rock and Blues influenced lead, rhythm and slide guitars to the table, as well as mandolin and the occasional Dobro.
Defying categorization, The Katch’s music is as dynamic as it is solid, as gentle as it is volatile. Give The Katch a listen!
Watch for upcoming live dates!

Tell Rich thanks for bringing his pictures, they were awesome! And tell the rest of the band I think they are great, and that they are really talented, and you all need to start thinking about getting some gigs. Seriously, the music is pretty tight. : )
