The Hepburns make pearly pop in the best UK tradition, albeit skewed sideways by cinematic caprices and elliptical narratives. Literary and barbed. The band first appeared at the tail end of the ‘80s when they recorded an influential LP and 12” for Cherry Red, a Peel session, and left a lasting impression on a younger generation of pop fans from Stockholm to Shibuya to San Francisco, before disappearing for a decade along with the masters for the band's second album. Their most rare 12” consistently fetches 3 figures on eBay.
In 2000 the band found a new home with Bay Area imprint Radio Khartoum, recording 90+ new songs and prompting one studio engineer to quip that songwriter Matt Jones “can't go to the toilet without coming back with a new song.” In Nov-Dec 2007, The Hepburns toured the US and Scandinavia, playing songs from their many RK releases.
In Nov 2008 The Hepburns set forth, once again, to dispense their melodic, melancholic magic. The tour starts with a Launch Party for their new album 'Trojan Hearse' at the Hard Rock Caff, Cardiff.

followers!! Sorry for the
disappearing act. Maggie cracked her head open during a basement show, so we’ve
been out(no pun intended) for awhile. She is almost better so when that happens
we’ll be back in the recording studio. In the meantime, we did manage to
convince our buddies at myspace.com/onryeproductions to let us do the video
game SFX that are on their newest episode.
